Chapter 222
‘She’s welcome to come. Why won’t she?”
He retorted and Ivor shrugged.
‘I should be asking you that. Word around is that you had some kind of fall out.”
He briefly glanced at Lori. Lori kept her mouth shut, her jaws tightening a little as she tried to look uninterested in the conversation.
‘Fall out?! That can’t even describe what that woman did.”
Ivor raised an eyebrow.
He looked around and balked when he saw Kate and her father approaching.
Oh anyways. Maybe we can have a chat about that later. I’ll be seeing you and your lovely mate around.”
With that he walked away.
“I don’t want to deal with them.”
Lori whispered as she looked straight at George and his daughter Kate coming towards them.
“We’ll keep it short.”
Gabriel replied in a clipped tone as he squeezed her hand reassuringly.
‘Mr Caddel.”
He spoke to them formally.
‘Miss Caddel.’
Kate looked a bit taken aback but hid her shock with a wide smile.
‘Gabriel!! Lovely to see you here,”

She commented as she gave him a warm smile, he didn’t return the gesture. Kate ignored her.
Her father on the other hand openly glared at Lori.
‘Gabriel… I didn’t think you’d be coming with your mate.”
He stated and Gabriel raised an eyebrow.
‘She’s going to be my Luna soon. So yes she had to come.”
George scowled.

Chapter 222
“Oh I know that. But did you think it wise that she come here like that? Making such a blatant arrogant display?”
“Blatant arrogant display?”
Lori repeated.
The man turned to her.
‘Yes. At this point it seems you’re begging for a fight.”
Lori raised an eyebrow.
“Why would me mere presence warrant a fight? Do the alphas here have such fragile egos that someone like me scares them?”
She taunted.
George looked mildly furious. Kate on the other hand took a step forward.
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
She muttered towards Gabriel as she tugged at her father’s suit and they left.
Lori released a sigh as she turned to Gabriel.
He had a proud smile on his face.
“You did good.”
Lori smiled.
“Thank you. I might change back soon though… my short fuse can’t take any more of this…”
Gabriel shrugged.
‘You can if you want. You’ve made your point, one they wouldn’t be forgetting anytime soon.”
Lori felt calmer, She liked him by her side. With him he was better, he made her safer. She was glad they were together.
They took a walk to the balcony where Lori quickly changed back to her normal human form, when she came back with Gabriel they were all somehow still
staring at her.
She and Gabriel took a turn about the large ballroom. The music was lovely and the wine was copious. It was a great atmosphere but it felt too tense.
