The man looked at her again, when it was clear that Lori wouldn’t shake him he dropped his hand.

She fought the urge to look shocked. This was the alpha Myra had specifically told her to stay away from and he was right in front of her.

“Loretta Wyatt.”

She answered uneasily.

‘I saw when you came in. Your wings are magnificent. I came over hoping to get a closer look but I see you’ve put them away,

Axel shrugged. Lori noticed that his eyes were raking all over her body, it made her feel uncomfortable. And small.

She wished she had not gotten rid of her wings… at least she wouldn’t be so intimidated. She would be the one intimidating him.

But then she had put them away and to transform back mid conversation seemed foolish.

“Well… you’re new to our world so it is expected.”

Lori almost scoffed.

The man looked around swiftly. Lori could see that his eyes were searching for Gabriel.

She couldn’t find him either.

‘I see you’re not drinking.”

He commented.

Lori dropped her glass.

‘I’ve had enough.”

Her glass was still full.

‘Seems you barely had a sip.”

“And why does that matter to you?”

The man chuckled.

He said and Lori raised an eyebrow.

‘Excuse me?”

‘You’re feisty. You have a smart mouth on you.”

What did that even mean? Lori wanted to ask but she withheld her question. The sooner this man left the better it was for her.

‘I’m curious about you. Your kind… would you mind answering some questions for me?”

“Perhaps somewhere more private?”

His voice had dropped to a whisper.

“Find answers elsewhere.”

She snapped at him.

Her eyes darted around.

Axel looked offended.

‘Did you somehow forget who you’re talking to?”

Lori turned to him.

‘I suggest you find your answers elsewhere Alpha.”

With that, she made a move to leave but he stretched out his hand and held her wrist.

Lori was stunned by his audacity.

He smiled coyly at her but his hand was clamped hard against her wrist.

‘I’m asking nicely now.”

‘Remove your hand or I’ll be forced to remove it myself.”

She warned but his grip only got tighter, to the point where it became uncomfortable.

There was a glint of mischief in his eyes.

He was having fun. He was actually finding humor in what he was doing.

He was doing it all on purpose.

She thought outraged as she contemplated throwing his hand away from hers.

Would that be seen as aggression? An attack? She had to think about her actions clearly
