The Alpha’s Nanny (Lori and Gabriel) novel Chapter 225

Chapter 225

“I can’t just let her leave like that.”

Gabriel whispered as they walked to the food table Lori had led them to. She pretended to be interested in a piece of cake.

“I know. But there’s too many people here. You can’t do anything without starting a fight.”

Gabriel’s jaw hardened.

“I don’t care. Do you know how much pain and trauma that woman caused us?!”

“I know. But starting a fight here… it’s not worth it.”

“What did Kate’s father mean?”

She asked nervously and Gabriel sighed.

“I didn’t know they were allies. They both have nothing to offer each other and Sabine and George don’t get along. This new allegiance must be recent… and

I’m suspecting it must be because of us.”

Lori looked at Sabine. She couldn’t believe the woman was in the same room as her and she was just walking freely. After everything she had done to them.

Lori wanted to throttle her!

She had worn a black dress just like hers, except hers was strapless and it had a really high slit. She was talking to George, Kate’s father. They were laughing

together, even Kate had joined in the laughter.

It was infuriating to see.

“An alliance because of us? So does that mean we can’t hurt her?”

Gabriel also had his eyes on her. Unlike Lori’s glare, he had a killer’s look on his face.

He was angry. She could feel his anger so much and so strongly that it felt physically hot to be near him.

“We can. But that would mean we’re at war with every pack she allied with.”

“I don’t care. I’m getting her one way or the other.”

Lori shook her head.

“No. That’s too obvious. She was expecting the altercation. She obviously came here to prove a point. If you attack her in front of all these people…”

Gabriel groaned.

“She has your son Lori! Did you forget that?”

Lori was taken aback.

Chapter 225

Forget?!

She had never been able to forget that. The fact that she had never even had the chance to hold him before. Ever! He was the one thing she could never forget. Sure she had tried to live her life like it didn’t happen. But she could never forget him.

“I gave birth to him. Do you think I forgot that?!”

She snapped at him.

Gabriel’s expression softened.

“I didn’t mean it that way…”

Lori sighed.

“I know you’re angry. Trust me I’m fuming too but we need to stay calm.”

Gabriel sighed.

“You’re right.”

“I have to go to the Lady’s room. I have a plan.”

She murmured to him.

Gabriel’s eyes shot up to hers.

“What is it?”

“I can’t say now. But if I’m not back in five minutes then you can come looking for me.”

Gabriel grabbed her hand.

“Are you sure it is safe?!”

“It is. I can handle myself.”

She assured him as she walked away. Lori could see Sabine watching her from the corner of her eye, so she walked right past Sabine.

The woman would follow her. She was hoping that she did. Sabine could never resist a fight and Lori was hoping they would both be alone in the bathroom.

In the ladies room. She stood in front of the sink and stared at the large mirror.

She washed her hands, then pretended to touch up her makeup while one woman came out of the stalls.

There was another washing her hands at the far end of the bathroom, but the woman didn’t raise her head to look at Lori.

One of them left. And shortly after Kate walked in.

Was she surprised?

She was.

CEA

She was expecting Sabine. Not Kate.

Kate stood next to her, turning on the tap next to hers.

Lori ignored her, concentrating on the pristine white sink in front of her.

“You must have been expecting Sabine.”

Lori shrugged.
