The Alpha’s Nanny (Lori and Gabriel) novel Chapter 227

Chapter 227

10

The Summit has started. Everyone, alpha, Luna or their betas who had come with them moved to the large conference hall. Several alphas walked in twos and threes to their respective round tables, many of which had been arranged from rank to territory and location.

Sabine watched the two main entrance eagerly and was relieved when she didn’t see Lori. Even Gabriel was missing. Probably looking for his beloved mate.

He wouldn’t be able to do anything. She had seen the dark magic do it’s work and if Astra’s destruction was worse, she was pretty sure what Lori would do would be way worse. After all Lori seemed to be the fully blooded nephilim. All she had to do was sit and wait, then the commotion would commence.

Ivor was the first to approach her in the conference hall. She had found her designated seat and was eagerly waiting when she saw the burly man walking towards her. She had almost groaned as she saw Ivor approaching her.

“I didn’t think you would make it…”

He murmured as he made his way to the empty seat that was supposed to be occupied by her mate or beta and sat on it. None of which she had. The thought of Vara sent a slight pang to her chest.

“Why would I miss it?!”

Ivor shook his head.

“If what you said about Gabriel and his mate his right, then I’d advise you to tread lightly.”

He spoke in low tones. Sure with so many alphas around, it wasn’t unusual or unheard of for them to eavesdrop.

‘Sure alliances are great and all…”

He continued.

“But when confronted with the thoughts of war, even alphas with the strength and will will balk.”

Sabine glared at him.

‘I didn’t ask for your advise Ivor yet here you are…”

‘I didn’t know you were so concerned for me… given your distrust for me after I warned you about everything.”

Ivor scoffed.

“You made false accusations against another alpha. A crime if I remember is actually punishable. A small offense but still a punishable one under our law.”

“I told you the truth.”

Ivor shrugged.

‘Very well then…. I eagerly wait to see whether or not this truth is real.”

Sabine smiled smugly.

Chapter 227

“You wouldn’t need to wait any longer… the truth will reveal itself soon enough.”

Ivor scoffed.

“How soon?”

“This night.”

Gabriel was in the middle of a heated conversation with another alpha when Lori’s voice filled his head. He didn’t even have time to murmur and leave an excuse. He looked towards the direction of the bathroom and saw Sabine walk out with a smug look on her face. His fists hardened.

That was it.

He managed to compose himself enough to walk sanely to the bathroom and he didn’t mind the murmurs from the woman he met at the ladies bathroom

entrance when he walked into it.

Gabriel forced open every stall till he reached the one where Lori was crouched.

“Lori!”

He breathed out as he reached out for her.

She was on her knees, her wings took up the tiny space and her claws were buried deep in the concrete, her head was low, she looked tired. Her hair fell like

a curtain all over her face, obstructing his view of her.

The moment she heard his voice she raised her head and uttered a word…

“Don’t.”

“What?!”

He asked in confusion.

‘Don’t come close,”

She forced the words out and Gabriel stared at her in utter confusion.

‘Why?!”

‘I can’t help it if I hurt you.”

Her voice was almost pleading. But Gabriel didn’t care about that. He didn’t care if he hurt himself he just wanted to save her.

‘Bullshit.’

He said as he touched her arm.

She was simmering hot, like her skin was molting lava. Still, he touched her, hissing through the pain.
