Chapter 250
“Hello?!”
Lori answered the phone, knowing fully well who the caller was. She had been expecting Sabine’s call ever since they launched their series of coordinated
attacks on her.
It had taken at least five days before she finally deigned to call her.
She knew the woman would call once she found out the extent she was willing to go to.
And Sabine did not disappoint.
“Lori.”
She answered in a clipped tone.
“How have you been Sabine?”
She asked and Sabine didn’t reply for a few seconds.
“I’ve been better.”
She grunted and Lori resisted the urge to chuckle. She was itching to gloat.
“Must have been a pretty hard week…”
“I’ve had better…”
Sabine murmured.
Lori examined her nails as she smiled to Myra who was sitting next to her and listening to every bit of the conversation.
Myra had come to ask her when she would resume practice, Lori had avoided all talks of practice and told Myra about what she was up to instead, Sabine had called right in the middle of their discussion.
“Your people say hello. Although… can’t really make out all they’re saying when they’re screaming and shouting… it’s all muddled.”
The cells were full of them. Every inch. At least a hundred held captive. Lori almost felt bad for them. Gabriel had tried to make them as comfortable as he could, but he couldn’t help reiterating to them the reason why they were there in the first place.
Because of their alpha,
“What do you want with them?! They’re innocent!”
She barked into the phone.
Lori could hear the anger in Sabine’s voice and she almost high fived Myra. It was clear through her tone that she was finally getting to her. She had finally
gotten under her skin.

Chapter 250
“I want nothing from them. Just you.”
“Your son?!”
Sabine scoffed.
“Why would I give him to you now when my people are with you? Release them to me first and I will release your son!”
“You must think me stupid Sabine.”
“I’m not releasing them. In fact, their days are pretty much numbered right now.”
“You wouldn’t.”
Sabine whispered and Lori finally chuckled.
“Oh believe me I would.”
Her voice was deep, low and commanding. It sent Sabine scrambling.
“That’s against the law. The Invito and the other alphas will come for you.”
Lori shrugged.
“What stupid laws?! The ones you discarded when you stole my son and killed Elliot?!”

“Besides… I am not a werewolf. I am not bound by your laws…”
“I’ll get to the point since I have somewhere to be. But I’ll make this short and simple. Deliver me my son and you’ll be sure to have each and every member of your pack safely delivered to you. Fail to do so and you can consider them all dead.”
With that. She ended the call.
Myra looked at Lori.
“Do you think it’ll work?!”
Lori sighed.
“I hope so. We’ve taken everything away from her. Her money,
her people, her lands… it’s her move now.”
Myra inched in closer,

“She must be planning with other alphas. Didn’t she have alliance with Kate Caddel’s father?”
Lori smirked.
“She did.”
“Did?!”

Chapter 250
Myra asked and Lori nodded.

“Gabriel paid a courtesy visit to George Caddel yesterday night. The old man doesn’t want war with Gabriel and his spiteful daughter also doesn’t want the same. So he has promptly agreed to back out of the alliance. I’ve told him to inform Sabine when she asks him for his help.”
Myra furrowed her eyebrows.
“You mean he’s not the one helping her currently?! Because so far our men haven’t been able to find her or any traces of her since she left New York.”
Lori shook her head. Equally confused too. There must be another person. Someone else working behind the scenes with Sabine.
She aimed to uncover the person. Whoever they were.
“George Caddel might be rich and powerful, but he’s not stupid. He only ventured into the alliance out of spite. He never needed it in the first place. Especially when such alliance only benefitted Sabine.”
“It’s someone else who is helping her. We don’t know who that is yet…”
She added.
Myra sighed.
“Oh well…. I know we’ll find out soon.”
Lori nodded as she excused herself.
In the bathroom, she pulled out the crumpled envelope she had seen lying in Gabriel’s gym bag.

It was unusual for her to have found it, because she rarely had reason to touch his stuff except she was helping him with something.
