The Alpha’s Nanny (Lori and Gabriel) novel Chapter 254

Chapter 254

Lori was late. She had promised to start training again and was well on her way there when Grace called and canceled due to a family emergency. Lori couldn’t blame her, but she also had to go to training and needed someone to watch the baby, so she had stayed home till Gabriel came back to take over. She had hurried out of the penthouse, in nothing but sweats and slacks, her gym bag over her shoulder with a pair of socks almost falling out.

She stopped at the lobby to stuff it in. One of Gabriel’s men was waiting at the parking lot to driver her to the training ground. She was late already and she

was also sure that he must have been waiting a while.

In her hurry, she bumped into someone and her whole bag came tumbling down again. She muttered a string of apologies as she picked up her bag, not even glancing at the person before turning away. The person touched her hand and she turned, alarmed and confused.

Her eyes narrowed as she saw who it was. Axel Walker. She looked around wondering how he had slipped past security and realised that there were no recognisable werewolf guards around. In the past few days, they had relaxed the security since Sabine was basically powerless, but Lori was still curious as to

how he had known where they lived. That must have also been Sabine’s doing.

Axel looked just like she had remembered, creepy. Even more creepier than she thought he was. He had a lewd smile on his face that made her

uncomfortable.

“What are you doing here?!” She fired at him.

*Relax. I just want a word.”

Lori raised an eyebrow. She looked around again, examining her surroundings like she had been taught. There was nothing out of the ordinary, Axel

appeared to have come alone.

“And this was the only way you could get a word across? Ambushing me?”

Axel looked surprised at her statmemnt.

“This is not an ambush, on the contrary it’s an intervention.”

‘Did you get my letter?’

“Pretty sure Gabriel wouldn’t have shown it to you.”

He murmured underneath his breath. Lori folded her arms.

‘He did actually. And I’m sure by now you should have figured out that we want nothing to do with you.”

‘Is that really what you want dear?’

He persisted and she nodded.

“Yes. It is.’

“Are you sure?’

“What’s your problem Axel? What’s your catch in all this? Why are you so interested in helping?!”

Axel sighed, he placed a hand on his chest, for a moment he looked sincere but Lori could tell it was all a facade.

“Because I genuinely want to help you find your son. And I also believe Sabine should be stopped.”

‘Gabriel and I are perfectly able to handle our own issues.”

She answered dismissively as she started walking away.

Axel scoffed.

‘Are you sure? Because it pretty much sounds like you’re failing.”

Lori was going to ignore him, but then decided that there was no use in ignoring hm. He was going too far and she was determined to put him in his place.

She turned around.

“I don’t know what is it you want from me, or us. But I can assure you one thing.”

Axel looked amused.

“What’s that?”

“You’re not going to get it. That, I promise you.”

“And next time, stay the fuck out of my way!”

She flipped him off and walked away.

Axel clenched his fists as he watched her walk away.

It had been years since she stepped into America. Years. When she got out of the plane and stepped on american soil in new york, she could feel a sense of nostalgia as she remembered her younger self. How so desperately she had wanted to leave so she could leave her past life alone. She had left with a trobled heart and a past she so desperately wanted to forget and now, she was back a changed woman. Time had changed her, but at least it had been kind on her, kinder than she had anticipated.

Although her kind aged slower and were sometimes deserving of the gift of long life due to their heritage, lone had not really thought she would possess the gift, despite having such a turbulent past. But looking into the mirror, she did not look her age.
