The Alpha’s Nanny (Lori and Gabriel) novel Chapter 255

Chapter 255

She was fifty-one. Well in her prime in nephilim years, but her face still looked smooth and ageless. Graham had always told her should could easily pass as a woman in her late thirties and she believed him, it was not merely flattery.

They had some business to attend to before she could even start looking for the boy. Ione only hoped she could finish them all as fast as she could so she could take the next flight to Denver, Colorado.

“How are you feeling?”

Graham asked.

“Like I’m twenty-five.”

She murmured and Graham smiled.

“How long has it been?”

She didn’t keep track of the time, but it was well over a decade.

‘Oh I can’t be too sure.”

Graham looked at his phone again.

‘Lael would be so happy to see you. She hasn’t seen you in a decade.”

lone smiled bashfully at the thought of the High Protector of the nephilim order taking time out to see her. Lael and lone had been best friends, but lived two separate lives. Lael went through the honorable route that every nephilim dreamed of, being important enough in the community to be given the honor to protect it and lone had simply slithered away after having her daughter.

“I think she might have too much on her hands. I would appreciate the gesture though.”

Graham shook his head.

‘She definitely would want to see you. That’s one thing I know.”

It was New York and the air was chilly, winter was only a few weeks away and lone wondered how her daughter planned to spend christmas. She spent the rest of the trip looking at the shops reminiscing about the past till they finally arrived at their destination.

As the car came to a halt, lone could see Lael and two other men waiting for her in front of the building. Lael had a proud smile on her small face and the men that flanked her were huge, nephilims who most likely worked in the Order. She suddenly became jittery, when she had sent a call for help, she knew what to expect, but now that she was facing it, it felt even more real.

‘lone!!”

Lael squealed as she hugged lone tightly.

‘Lael. It’s been so long.”

She murmured as Lael still held on to her. They both pulled away slowly, with Lael toucing lone’s face tenderly.

Chapter 255

‘Let’s go inside. We have much to discuss.”

She murmured as she dragged lone inside the buiding. Graham and the two other men followed behind slowly.

They had much to discuss and Lael couldn’t stop talking as she ushered lone in, past the elevator and way past the halls till they finally reached her floor. lone gave her a rundown of eerything that was happening and Lael was shocked more than once.

‘Have you contacted her?!’

She asked long after they had settled in, someone brought lone and Graham cups of coffee to drink.

‘My daughter?”

lone asked. The words was strange in her mouth and for some reason it even felt stranger to use after years of believing she had passed away.

Lael nodded.

“No. I haven’t. I was hoping I could do that after the mission.”

Lael sighed as she shared a look with one of her guards.

“You know before we can find one of our own we need to establish a secure connection. The boy, he isn’t in our records and I think it’ll be even more harder

to find him since your daughter isn’t in our records either.”

lone nodded.

“Yes, I have thought of that. But what about me? Can I be used to establish a secure connection?!”

Lael looked doubtful.

“How old is the boy?!”

“Barely a year.”

lone answered. She could see the answer on Lael’s face.

“There’s no seeker strong enough to find him. But if you can contact his mother, that is, your daughter, we can get to him as fast as we can.”

“And you know the longer route… it’ll take days, possibly weeks before we uncover the hideout.”

Lael hesitated.

“What is it?”

lone urged her to go on.

“Depending on how strong her nephilim abilities are, she’s the only one who can find him.”

Chapter 255

“That bitch?!”

“Who the fuck does she think she is!!”

Axel had come back home in a fit and Sabine was hiding a smile knowing that he was butthurt by whatever Lori had told him.

He had sought her out again, and while she would have been available to tell him how bad of an idea it was, he didn’t seek her advice, or her consent to. He only asked for her last known address and she told him about the penthouse they lived where she had her kidnapped.

She was surprised that he had actually seen her, given how tight the security of the place had been after the kidnap.

Axel shrugged off his jacket, his face contorting in anger. Sabine watched in amusement.

“Give me my phone!!”

He barked to one of his men who quickly scuttled away.

His phone was brought to him and he made a call. Sabine tried to eavesdrop but he walked far away from her, into a room that had walls so thick even her
