Would you kiss for us now the interviewer said. I’m sure your fans would love to see it.

That’s private,I said, just as Brittany said, Of course!

We looked at each other.

I gave her a warning glance, but she smiled wider, ignoring it.

We kiss all the time, Jason. No one will mind if we do now. Just a quick one.

My stomach rolled over, and my strong willpower was the only reason I didn’t flinch away from her.

Instead, even with my wolf pacing restlessly and growling inside of me, I closed my eyes, leaned in, and kissed her softly on the mouth. She tried to open her mouth, to sneak out her tongue, but I quickly pulled back before she could actually lick me.

She pouted for a halfsecond before smiling at the camera. See? He’s being modest in front of the camera, but truly, he can’t keep his hands off of me. I really don’t think it will be long before we have our first child. She grinned. And then many more after that.

Laila’s POV

Riley tried to take the phone again, and this time I let her.

Seeing Jason kiss Brittany had torn something inside of me that I didn’t know existed. Logically, as they were engaged, I knew that Jason and Brittany had to be kissing in private. They were probably doing more than that. They were engaged, that only made sense.

But to see it for myself

Much of the pack probably enjoyed this insight into their personal lives, seeing their Alpha and future Luna in a way they never had before. But for me, this was all too much.

Once again, I was that fragile young woman, confused and hurt when Jason brought Brittany to the pack house, declaring her as his actual future mate.

Not me. Never me.

You okay?Riley asked me.

I’m fine,I lied.

Riley gave me a look like she didn’t believe me. We can talk about this.

There’s nothing to say,” I said.

I don’t think that’s true,Riley said. Ever since Jason came back into your life, you’ve been actingWell, I know it’s difficult for you to handle. Right now, you have so many other things going on. You shouldn’t have to carry this too. Talk to me. Let me help.

I looked at her hopelessly. There really isn’t anything to say. What good would it do? Nothing will change. Things have been a certain way for a very long time, and I should be over it by now.

Yeah, but with

Don’t,I said, not wanting William to hear. Sitting on the other side of me, he might not have been looking like he was paying attention but I knew he could hear every word.

He knew what had happened between Jason and me, it up again would also hurt me.

but that didn’t mean I needed to bring it up and hurt him with it. Bringing

I had been so stupid. I didn’t know if I could ever forgive myself.

I don’t ever want to think about that again, for as long as I live.I doubted I would have a choice in the matter though. In my quiet moments, the feel of Jason around me, inside me, haunted my mind.

I didn’t think I’d ever be tree again.

Abruptly, William stood. Without a word, he turned and started walking away.

William?I called. Where are you going?

He didn’t answer. He just walked straight out of the building.

Jason’s POV

I opened the door, having already sensed William on the other side of it. If you are looking for another fight,I said. I will not go easy on you this time.
