Chapter 201 The Silent Hunt
“I’ve got clothes,” Riley said. He quickly switched into a dark combat suit. It was clearly a transmog outfit.
The other two changed as well. As bounty hunters, they often took stealth missions. Not changing would have been strange.
Everyone was ready, except Fern hadn’t changed his outfit.
He walked out casually and spotted a criminal passing by.
“What are you staring at?” Fern called.
The criminal froze, then snapped back, “I’m staring at you. So what?”
“Fine, come fight me if you dare,” Fern said, backing into a narrow alley.
The criminal refused to look weak; he chased after him.
The moment the man entered the alley, Riley stepped in and pinned him in place. Fern raised his bow, but before he could shoot, a streak of black light and a flash of rainbow light struck the criminal at the same time.
The light burned through him. He fell and vanished.
Fern whistled in awe.
“Those two contract beasts of yours hit hard. Must be tough to train them, right?”
“Not really,” Joanna said.
It wasn’t too challenging. She just had to pet them and give them a little affection now and then.
“Oh well, Summoners burn through money fast!” Fern said with a grin. He became even more convinced that Joanna had joined bounty hunting for the rewards.
He didn’t ask more. Instead, he went back to luring more criminals from the dungeon.
These enemies were dungeon-generated. They followed some rules but ignored others.
For example, if Fern started killing openly, all the criminals in the dungeon would rush at them at once. That would be nearly 20,000 criminals.
Before, the bounty hunters weren’t holding back because they had 40,000 people. The criminals only had 20,000.

Now, they had five people and three contract beasts.
How could they fight a crowd like that?
One spit from each enemy would be enough to drown them.
So they had to take them out one by one.
But there was a rule to that too. Each enemy had to die quietly. If no one noticed, the others wouldn’t come running.
It was the safest way.
It just took more time.
But with Joanna’s damage output, six hours would be enough to take out 20,000 criminals.
Under Fern’s steady lead, they pushed forward. They even ran into a small boss played by Skylar. But in a one-on-one fight, he wasn’t a match for Fern.
At last, they reached the doors of the great hall.
As soon as they arrived, they saw six figures walking ahead.
Fern raised a finger to his lips, signaling everyone to stay quiet.
He switched to team chat and typed.
Fern wrote, “Dungeons built on original event points get more real as you get closer to the Evil God’s power. Most places are fake scenes. This area is likely the real one.”
Riley said, “Learned something new today.”
Fern teased, “You don’t look like you went to college. This kind of stuff is taught there. Only Hell-tier dungeons deal with gods. Even theories like this are taught only at the Divine and Demonic Academy.”
Fiona asked, “Wow, Fern, you graduated from the academy?”
Rowan praised, “That’s impressive.”
Fern replied, “Wipes swear.jpg. Not exactly. When I hit Level 50, I paid to attend a graduate training course. That’s where I heard all this.”
Even though Fern said he wasn’t really from the academy, he was still proud that he had attended a graduate training course.

There were many secrets that low-level professionals would never learn.
Fern loved guiding beginners. He liked sharing what he knew. Their admiration made him feel good, and it quietly fed his pride.
To most people, he looked like a kind and powerful veteran.
