The Beautiful Wolf novel Chapter 23

Chapter 23: I’m In Some Deep, Serious Shit

MELENA

“You’re here quickly,” said the second and evil maid as she approached us.

What the heck is she doing here? I thought. Was she here on business? I thought again, curiously.

“We took the shortcut,” answered Eutis, smiling at her.

“Okay,” she answered.

Suddenly, she shouted at the young lady at the door.

“Why aren’t you letting them in?”

Oh no, I’m worried. Was she really in charge of me, as she had said in the cell? I instantly felt a bad feeling rushing within my stomach.

I was now in some deep, serious shit, and there was nothing I could do about it now.

The young lady quickly escorted us inside the alpha’s home and led us straight into the living room. Inside was huge and beautiful. There were beautiful paintings on the wall that seemed very expensive, and so was the furniture. They all looked new, like they were just bought.

Eutis and I sat on a white couch; behind us I saw a black piano. I was startled he had one and thought perhaps it belonged to one of his family, and he never played it, not expecting him as an alpha who plays piano.

Though Alpha Strider had saved me not once but twice. I could never trust him. He was up to something, and that was only one thing: my body, just like all the other alphas.

The evil maid came to ask us if we needed anything to drink. I said no. I was not interested in taking anything from her after she spat in my food. I wanted nothing to do with her, either.

Eutis too turned down her offer and went straight into business while I sat beside her, clueless of what was going to happen.

“Melena, this here is Ivy.” She pointed at the evil maid.

“She’s Alpha Strider’s maid and also the supervisor of the workers within this house. She’ll be in charge of you during your seven-day trial. So please listen and obey her.”
