Chapter 25: It Couldn’t Get Any Worse
MELENA
He continued upstairs until I heard his footsteps no more.
I quickly got hold of the map. I ran my left hand through the side of my white, thick hair, wondering what to do. But there was nothing I could think of.
“I believe the floor will clean itself when you stand like that,” I heard Miss Ivy say sarcastically.
I jumped in fright, not seeing her when she had entered the living room, and quickly completed my job.
“Quickly get rid of the bucket and mop,” she then ordered me.
“Vanessa will show you where to place them, and when you’re finished, come straight to me right away,” she said.
“Yes, Miss Ivy,” I answered her as I exited the living room.
I saw the young lady, Vanessa, waiting for me in the hall. She showed me where to place the bucket and the map. I quickly placed them within a small room, labeled the cleaning supplies room, and hurriedly went back to Miss Ivy.
“Hey,” I heard Vanessa call, stopping me.
I turned around, staring at her. A pixie cut, black hair, and brown eyes, she-wolf, wondering what she wanted with me now.
“Yes,” I answered her.
She lowered her head, playing with her fingers, and then looked straight into my blue, ocean eyes, eager to know something.
I was anxious to know what she wanted. I quickly asked her.
“What is it?”
I was in a hurry, and Miss Ivy was waiting for me. I wanted no trouble.
“Did Ivy inform you which room you were going to sleep in tonight?” She asked.
“No,” I answered her.
I then saw a disappointed look on her face as she went off. It seemed she didn’t want to share a room with me tonight, not that I care anyway.
