Chapter 169
DAMON POV
The moment she kicked me, everything shattered inside me.
Not just my body but my pride and identity.
As a man and as her brother, every ego was crushed and gone.

I didn’t even see it coming. One second I was standing there, and the next, I was on the ground, helpless and pathetic, like a sissy.
By the time Fiona walked away, the pain in my stomach began to settle, slow, heavy, and suffocating. I had forced myself up, but my legs trembled. It felt like something inside me b
been hollowed out, like every ounce of strength I had was gone.
Sweat soaked through my shirt; all I could do then was laugh. A dry, broken sound.
“Protect her?” I actually said that. Recalling it made me shake my head, ashamed of myself.
“Yeah… right. Who was I kidding?
I couldn’t even take a single hit from her. And I thought I could stand beside her? Protect her?
A joker. No worse… I was a clown.
In her eyes… that’s exactly what I was. And somehow, I still managed to sink lower by crashing over a single hit from her.
“Useless…” I muttered. My fists clenched tightly. “How can you be this useless, Damon?”
My voice dropped, bitter and raw.
“She’s right…. The arrogant fool…”
LL
…was me.”
I slammed my fist into the ground. Pain shot through my knuckle bone, skin splitting, but I didn’t care.
That pain?
It was nothing compared to what was inside me.
FIONA POV
The Silver Vein Mansion stood exactly as I remembered. Quiet, cold and familiar.
This was where it began, the first place I was brought after leaving the family that rejected me. The place where I became Queen.
I stepped inside, and for a moment, it felt like stepping into another life.

Because that’s exactly what it was.
Back then, when I first entered here and was told about my blood, I had a purpose.
Healing.
Not revenge. Not destruction.

My blood was never meant for war. It was meant to save lives and to protect. Other special abilities from my wolf only made me stronger, but my blood was the rare gift.
I had really missed my five men.
Maeron. Calor. Severyn. Toren. Kieran.
My first allies and foundation. They had allowed me to live as I wanted without any pressure or disturbance, although they kept watch to be sure I never entered dangerous situations beyond me.
But we haven’t talked.
Also, it had been too long, too long since I logged into the organisation website, too long since I posted, and too long since I remembered who I was.
I pulled out my phone, opened the old interface, and posted a simple and clear message.
“The Queen cares…
Then I walked forward, stopping just outside Maeron’s room. His door was slightly open.
Perfect.
Inside, I could see he was slouched over a cup of instant noodles. Then his laptop screen refreshed over my
post.
“..Huh?”
He leaned closer.
“There’s a new post?” I heard him say: “…Did someone hack in?”
I almost smiled.
No one could post there without his approval, except me.
He clicked and scrolled. Then froze.
“…No way…
His voice dropped to a whisper.
“Queen…?”
His hand started shaking.
“、”

“…It’s Queen?!”
He shot up from his chair so fast he nearly knocked everything over.
“Oh my-
He clutched his chest.
“My heart…calm down…calm down-!”
I leaned lightly against the wall, watching with a smile.
I don’t blame him. It had been a year. Of course he’d react like that.
To him, this was like an Alphaming from the dead. Like a legend stepping back into the pack.
Finished
He kept refreshing the page again and again, like he was afraid it would disappear. Like it wasn’t real. Like I wasn’t back.
I took out my phone and dialled his number.
The moment it rang, he answered instantly.
“Hello?! Is this–Queen?”
“It’s me.”
My voice was calm and steady.
Your voice…” He almost choked. “It’s even better than I imagined—”
“Maeron“, I cut him off.
“Y–Yes! I mean… Queen…how can I help?”
He was nervous. Trying to stay composed, he didn’t even realise I was behind his door.
“I’m back.”
A small pause.
Then I added, “Let’s finish what we started. Let’s make our dream real.”
