Chapter 170
DOMINIC POV
Frashed
When I opened my eyes, night had already fallen. The scent hit me first: antiseptic, metal and blood.
I felt weak.
“Dominic, you’re awake!“.
My head turned slightly. My mother was there, her eyes red.
“…Mom…
My voice came out rough. “What happened…?”
“You’re at Hopewell Hospital,” she said softly. “You collapsed. Your wolf energy destabilised. You’ve been unconscious for days.”
Collapsed?
Fragments of memories came back, and I recalled the courtroom restroom conversation, the pressure and her voice.
Fiona.
My chest tightened, not physically, but something deeper. Even my wolf stirred, then recoiled like it had been burnt.
I sucked in a breath. Pain shot through me, sharp and immediate. The monitor beside me spiked.
“Dominic?”
“I’m fine,” I forced out.
A lie.
Nothing about this was fine.
The pack doctor came. My father came. Others followed. Voices blurred together with orders, instructions, and concern.
“You need rest.”
“Your wolf core is unstable.”
“No strain. No triggers.”
They all said to me one after the other, but little did they know the only trigger I needed was her.
Fiona.
Eventually, they all left. One by one, the room went quiet. Too quiet.

Finished
I closed my eyes, trying to rest. But the moment darkness settled, she appeared in my head under that same rain, her voice cold and her eyes…..
Those eyes.
Not soft. Not hurt. Just Dead.
“You die.” Her words echoed in my head, and I jerked upright, breathing hard. Sweat soaked through me.
My wolf growled low in my chest, not in anger this time but in sheer fear.
I clenched my jaw and reached for my phone.
There was one place left to contact her. They had given me a link then, so I should contact her now.
The underground network where wolves, hunters, and rogues traded secrets. Under the Silver Vein organisation dark web.
Same place. I never dreamt in my life that someone like Fiona would rule as queen.
My fingers moved fast through my phone screen, ignoring messages, ignoring everything.
I went straight to her profile with Hope.
Stupid, desperate hope that maybe she posted. Maybe she left something.
Anything.
Itapped to message her, but it showed ‘Access Denied‘. You have been blacklisted.
I stared at the screen and laughed, the sound low and broken.
“You didn’t just cut me off. You erased me.”
I leaned back slowly, my chest hollow.
Still, I wasn’t done.
I couldn’t be there yet.
I moved deeper into the network, searching, scanning, tracing anything connected to her.
Threads. Fragments. Mentions.
Most of it was noise from past trends showing people mocking me for being rejected by the Queen.
“The queen abandoned her soon–to–be student.”
“DJ got discarded.”
“Deserved.”
I didn’t react to all this as I kept scrolling.

Finisher
Then I saw it. A post from the Silver Vein Medicine Department website
Two hours ago from a user nicknamed Clown.
“New skill unlocked. Queen is back to business.”
My hand froze.
No.
I leaned closer, eyes narrowing as my heartbeat slowed and then dropped.
“That’s…impossible. Did I just lose everything I gained from the organisation? I had been blocked everywhere except this website, which had even been abandoned as an old site. The new one has a link, but I was blocked, so I can’t enter with my login.
Who is Clown?
I clicked on the profile, and what I saw tore my heart.
Queen’s favourite student….
That was the bio.
Damn! It really hurt because this was what I would have been.
Every detail confirmed it wasn’t imitation but clear inheritance.
Cold realisation crept in.
“…She took another student.”
