Lydia POV
Being part of the Jenson family meant power came easily.
As the chosen daughter, I never lacked anything–money, status, attention. My monthly allowance alone was enough to make most wolves jealous. On the surface, I acted disciplined, careful, and refined, but the truth was much simpler.
I spent freely.
Why wouldn’t I? I was raised surrounded by luxury, custom spirit–thread gowns, rare fabrics from elite packs, and limited collections delivered every season without fail. That kind of life changes you. It raises your standards until nothing ordinary feels acceptable.
Saving money was never something I needed to think about.
Until now.
I stared at the number on my phone, my fingers tightening slightly.
The rogue assassin fee.
It was outrageous; almost ninety percent of everything I had was left.
Even if they don’t succeed in killing her, the money would still be gone. No refunds.
For a moment, I hesitated but shoved the doubt aside immediately; my expression hardened.
I didn’t have the luxury to hesitate anymore. I needed something…anything…to destroy Fiona, and I needed
it fast. Because if I didn’t, she would keep taking things from me, bit by bit, until there was nothing left.
Dominic POV
I used to think I understood control. Now, everything felt like it was slipping.
“Fiona… why?”
The words left my mouth before I could stop them.
None of this made sense.
Not long ago, she actually hated me, but now she has already chosen someone else as a new student.
My jaw tightened.
“You said I was the only one you would give this opportunity… The only one worth teaching. The only one who understood you. You said no one would replace me.”
My chest felt tight as I remembered our conversation as DJ and Queen. It was the best feeling.
“Was that a lie?”

Chapter 132
There was no answer. Of course there wasn’t going to be an answer when she wasn’t here. To give one
I wanted to get up, leave, track her scent, and force the truth out of her. She didn’t get to do this. She didn’t get to walk away after tearing something out of me.
But I realised even more that I was hopeless.
I stayed one more day under observation in the hospital before being discharged. Everything else had already been handled. The lawsuit was covered, and my collapse was hidden. The pack didn’t need to see weakness. The other family members were still away, unaware of my condition.
When I was brought back home, that was the same time Father and Mother were already preparing to leave again. The Alpha needed their presence.
“I’m sorry… if it wasn’t for me-”
“That’s enough,” Father cut me off gently. “We’re family. Focus on recovering.”
He wanted to ask more. I could tell, but Mother stopped him.
“Not now.” She said.
They left soon after.
“Dominic, I planned a welcome gathering for you…” Lydia said softly.
I didn’t even look at her.
“Damon.”
He looked up.
“I’m tired. Take me to my room.”
There was a brief pause.
“Alright.”
He helped me up while Lydia stayed behind, and I still didn’t turn back.
Inside the room, Damon moved to leave. “Get some rest.” He said.
“Stay.” I muttered, and He hesitated but then sat.
Silence stretched between us, heavy and suffocating.
When I looked at him, I saw the same thing I felt.
Regret. Guilt. Something broken.
And we both knew why.
