I felt like I was dreaming when I saw Fiona, or maybe sinking into a nightmare. I just stood there, staring at her.
Fiona.
Not only was she alive, but she was standing in front of me in designer clothes, surrounded by security, signing the purchase papers for a Porsche as if it were completely ordinary.
Even Raina, her friend, was right beside her, smiling with the confidence of someone who wasn’t afraid of me.
“This can’t be real,” I whispered as they walked toward the white brand new car. The shock twisting in my stomach nearly made me double over:
How?
How was she suddenly living a life that looked better than mine? Even the dealership manager bowed to her as if she were royalty. Why wouldn’t he? She had just bought the most expensive car here.
Where did she get that kind of money? Fiona, the so–called useless Beta daughter with nothing to her name. The girl who I expected to be starving on the streets, forgotten and pitiful after she gave up her Beta identity and walked away from the family.
This was the same girl we assumed would never rise above the dirt she came from, and would soon come back begging for forgiveness.
This dealership was the last place I ever expected to see her. And even if I would see her here, it should absolutely not be as a paying customer but a cleaner or something.
I had begged Father for months to get me a car, and even he couldn’t get a car like the op just bought.
“So Damon was right,” I overheard Lance mutter.
“He knew?” I asked sharply.
“He saw her at the Lycan King’s bar.”
ठ
The air left my chest in one hard rush. The Lycan King’s bar? That was enough to hit like a slap.
“Fiona,” I called just as she reached her car door.

She turned slowly, her eyes meeting mine with a calm, unreadable expression. “How can I help you?”
Lance and I walked forward as I forced a smile that felt glued onto my face.
“We both know you didn’t become a billionaire in a month,” I said, my tone sweet but my eyes sharp.
“It shows suspicion all over her,” Lance added, folding his arms. “How did you even get this money? What path did you take?”
“What path?” Fiona asked, not an ounce of fear or uncertainty in her voice. She even waved her guard back as if she didn’t need protection.
The scared Fiona I once enjoyed tormenting was gone.
“It’s either illegal business, drug trafficking, kidnapping, or prostitution,” Lance said bluntly.
I nodded as if his words were the simple truth.
But Fiona and Raina laughed. Laughing, as if the accusation were a pathetic joke.
“First you said I’m here to steal a car, now I’m a prostitute?” Fiona asked. “Lance, I don’t owe you a single explanation. We are not related anymore, and we do not operate on the same level.”
Lance sniffed dismissively. “When you get caught, don’t come running back to us. The family doesn’t tolerate that kind of shame.”
“Also know, Fiona…Not everything that glitters is gold,” I added coldly.
Raina gave me a mockery look that irritated me instantly. “You sound so bitter it’s almost funny. She doesn’t need the family anymore. Look around you. She’s doing perfectly fine.”
“You little insect,” I snarled and raised my hand to slap her, but Fiona caught my wrist with a strength that startled me.
“If you touch her, you’ll regret it,” she said quietly and somehow I believed her. With the firmness in her grip, I was certain she would beat me if a fight started so I kept my cool.
Lance stepped forward instinctively, but Fiona’s personal guard blocked him with one step.
“We’re leaving. We don’t have time to argue or fight with you, commoners,” Lance said, pulling me away. “One day we will see her crawling back.”
Raina held
up the Porsche keys and smiled proudly. “It’ll be you two crawling first.”

Humiliation spread hot across my skin but there was nothing I could do.
Just then the store fell silent and a scent drifted in from the doorway, followed by a clear
announcement.
“The Prince is here.”
My breath caught in my throat. The Alpha’s son.
He stepped into the dealership with the same cold power he carried at the Academy opening ceremony. His expression was unreadable, his presence magnetic, the kind that swallowed attention without effort.
That day at the Academy opening, even when I stood in front of him wearing my Beta crown, he didn’t acknowledge me. He didn’t greet me and barely cared like I wasn’t someone worth his time.
And today the same. I watched how he didn’t even glance at me but his attention went straight to Fiona.
Her face caught the light from above, the silver Porsche behind her making her look almost ethereal. It was like I just noticed how gorgeous Fiona had become–enough to get anyone’s attention.
Prince Daren’s eyes, which were always distant and icy, settled on her with a spark I had never seen from him. Not toward me. Not toward anyone.
No. Please no.
“He can’t be looking at her,” I whispered as my nails dug into my palm.
“I don’t understand either,” Lance muttered, equally thrown.
Prince Daren was supposed to be mine. My future. My path to the top. The man Mother told me I would marry. The one I had imagined a bond with.
And
yet Fiona, of all people, caught his attention in a single glance.
He spoke to his guard, and I felt the words like a knife sliding under my
