Chapter 20
Fiona’s POV
I pushed myself off the bed, splashed cold water on my face, and grabbed my laptop. I must not allow him to find me.
Without hesitation, I contacted the technology team, and for two straight hours, we built firewalls, fake profiles, and digital shadows–everything to bury who I really was. Or what my blood might reveal.
I knew Lucas would start his investigation about me, especially as he already has my phone number and knows how I look.
Being his mate and the woman with the special blood was really a curse in disguise. If he ever finds out about this, my life will be ruined.
With my profile wiped off the internet, he would never be able to trace me unless he came to this pack and searched for me. I hope he doesn’t waste his time doing all that.
I finally closed the laptop, and it was almost noon. Raina burst into my room at that moment. “You’re awake! Goddess, you scared me with such a long sleep.”
Kieran followed behind her holding a tray of food, but he froze the moment he looked at me. Both of them stared like I had grown two heads.
“My Queen…” Kieran’s eyes narrowed. “Your aura-”
“I know. I don’t want to hear it,” I cut in, knowing exactly what he was about to say.
Raina stepped closer, as she seemed to have noticed too. “Fiona… your wolf. She’s–she’s awakening, isn’t she?”
My jaw tightened as I thought of Lucas. If they could sense it so quickly, that means there won’t be any charm to hide it from a powerful being like Lucas.
Kieran let out a low whistle. “This is a huge problem. Fiona, your wolf would reveal to Lucas who you are. He will be able to sense your blood in its real essence and will find out you are our queen who he requested for.”
Damn! So not only the mate bond but also the blood type?
I’m fucked if I attend that dinner.
“The dinner won’t hold.” Maeron cut in as he stepped into the room. He had heard everything.

“Yes. I can’t risk my life.” I muttered.
“But don’t you think you will end up risking your life more by….”

“Attending that dinner is more harmful because Lucas would sense it all, and we may not see her again.” Dael chipped in as he walked into the room.
A sharp knock came at the door at that moment, and Calor, the head of security, rushed in with a box in his hand.
“Lady Fiona.” He called. “Lucas sent this.” He held out a black velvet box.
I didn’t take it.
“What’s inside?” I asked.
“He delivered it with the exact message, ‘Wear it for dinner tonight.“”
I hissed. “Let him know I received his gift, but I am not interested in his dinner anymore.” I snapped without fear.
“Are you sure you…”
“I have lived almost all my life like a slave, controlled and weak. I won’t allow anyone to do the same to me…” I seethed, standing to my feet. My wolf growled inside me, and I smiled.
“Tell the Lycan king I appreciate his help but won’t be having any dinner with him. My boyfriend didn’t allow that.” I added and their eyes widened, smiles etched on their faces.
“Perfect!” Raina squeaked, and we all burst into laughter.
“The academy is starting in two days. I need a new car. Raina, let’s go get one.”
“Let’s go….” She grinned, her eyes glistening with excitement.
Keiran insisted on coming with me as my personal guard. I was really getting used to being protected at all times.
When we reached, Raina was dumbfounded. “You’re buying a Porsche? Just like that?” Her mouth was agape, eyes shimmering as she watched me enter the dealership store.
“They made me rich just by claiming I was their queen through a prophecy. Also, I found out I have a special blood even though I don’t know what it could do yet. I will find out soon.” I beamed.
“Wow. If only your family knew what you would become…” Raina laughed. “We will be meeting them soon, and I can’t wait to see their reactions.”

My family called me worthless. “Let’s not talk about them and look for the best car. I need something fast enough to outrun my problems.”
We both laughed.
Inside, the staff hurried toward me instantly, seeing the convoy and security with me.
They made a reservation, serving wine as they handed the car collections to me. I stared at the white Porsche Cayenne waiting at the centre of the showroom like it was meant for me.
“The white one…” I said to her.
“That’s the most expensive Porsche.” She gasped, and I smiled.
“I’m buying that.”
Everyone was shocked, and even Raina spun around in a slow circle around the car, awestruck.
“You didn’t tell me you were getting this.”
I grinned faintly. “Surprise, I guess.”
The paperwork took minutes, and I signed everything with my new identity. Same name but no record tied to the Jenson family. The moment I walked away, I stripped away any connection with them.
Raina hovered happily behind me, toying with the key.
Just as the final form was stamped, the dealership doors chimed open and the atmosphere shifted.
“Welcome, Mr and Miss Jenson.”
I stiffened.
Raina recognised the name instantly. “Your… family?” she whispered.
I swallowed hard and turned, my eyes falling on her.
Lydia.
She stepped inside wearing a soft pink dress and gold jewellery all over her and heavy makeup, like she was trying to beat everyone in beauty.
