Just then a messenger rushed in. “Your Majesty, a request letter from the Alpha of Silvercrest
Pack.”
“Is that not Fiona’s pack?” I asked.
“Yes, it is,” Vance replied as he took the envelope and passed it to me.
I broke the seal and read through quietly.
Silvercrest was asking for aid against rogues attacking their borders. Fear was spreading and their defenses were weakening. They sounded desperate enough—just as I wanted.
“How convenient,” I muttered with a smirk.
Vance waited a respectful distance. “What does it say?”
“They want my men to help secure their border.”
“Will you send them?”
“Yes,” I answered, already forming the real plan in my mind. “But not for free.”
Vance’s brows drew together. “What do you want in exchange?”
“Admission.”
Confusion flickered in his eyes. He stepped closer and lowered his voice. “Admission… to the Royal Academy?”
“Yes,” I said with a lopsided smile.
Vance blinked, stunned. “But Your Majesty, with all respect, you cannot walk into that academy and mingle with those werewolves. You are the dreaded Lycan king.”
“I can enter,” I said. He exhaled and folded his hands, studying me like he was trying to read my thoughts.
“I will not go as the king. I will go as someone else–Rex, a cousin of the Lycan king. In exchange for helping them secure their border, they will grant direct entry into the academy. Rex will be respected, and no one will question it.”
Vance stared at me like I had grown two heads. “So you will disguise yourself and join the students. It won’t be hard since you are still young and charming.”

“But why do you really want to go there?”
I met his eyes without blinking. “Didn’t I tell you I want to meet Fiona? We still have scores to settle.”
Silence stretched between us before he swallowed hard. “You want to follow her that much? I can arrange men to capture her and bring her to you.”
“I don’t want to use force or do anything against her will. Once I get closer, I’ll get my answers,” I said sharply. “She wiped her identity for a reason. She is wealthy for a reason. I want to know why.”
He bowed. “Whatever you wish. I’ll prepare the documents for your new identity as a cousin. No one will question it.”
I nodded. “Good. Contact the Silvercrest Alpha. Tell him I will send my elite warriors in exchange for direct admission into the academy for
my cousin.”
Vance’s smile stretched wide, almost reaching his ears. “You’re really going after her. That’s a sign,” he whispered.
“I’m going after a suspect,” I corrected. “She could be a demon or a threat.” The words tasted untrue and foolish.
His lips twitched as he nodded. “For the first time, you’re interested in the affairs of a werewolf pack because of a girl.”
“You sound like she is my lover…” I chuckled dryly and stood. “All I see in this girl is another prey for my wolf. She should be scared because her end is near. You may go.”
I wasn’t sure if I sounded cold enough or if he could clearly see I was bluffing. He bowed and left without another word.
I stood alone again, my eyes flashing toward Fiona’s crumpled letter on the table. “She thought she could get rid of me. She really doesn’t know me well.”

The day was finally here, and I could barely contain my joy as I drove through the Royal Academy looked nothing like I imagined–far more beautiful, enough to make my jaw drop.
Every part of the place was carefully built to perfection, appearing like a paradise on earth with the scent of royalty lingering in the air.

As I drove in, my face brightened with a smile. I wondered whether my father would have ever paid my tuition if I had remained in that family, especially now that Lydia had taken my place.
I felt excited to be here. It was a new beginning, a second chance to train and build the life I wanted.
“With the resources here, I’ll be able to train my inner wolf and grow into a strong, independent woman.”
“Then meet your mate, who will shower you with love and affection,” Raina whispered with a grin. But I couldn’t smile back as I remembered I already had a mate–and he was a devil.
“I will choose my mate. Any man who captures my heart,” I said with a soft chuckle.
“The prince?” Kieran teased. I frowned and shook my head.
“I don’t want anything to do with royal families. It would bring too much attention.”
“You are already a queen in your own world. Soon even your family will beg for your forgiveness,” a gentle voice whispered inside me.
My wolf.
“My wolf just spoke to me!” I screamed, and everyone stared at me with wide eyes.
“Really?” Raina shrieked, her excitement overflowing.
