The Billionaire Twins Need A New Mommy! novel Chapter 526

Chapter 526: ... like real jerks

The rescue team, consisting of a total of fifteen members from the Order, gathered hours before dawn. With everything prepared, those participating bid their friends and loved ones farewell. After all, many of them had families who were also part of the Order or under the protection of the Zorken family.

This mission was dangerous, and there was no guarantee they would come back alive—or in one piece.

Worries consumed some families, while others showed pride and sent them off with prayers. A few didn’t have anyone to be sentimental with. They used that time to mentally prepare themselves for the mission ahead.

As for Lola, she spent the remainder of the day with her children. But unlike the others, she didn’t treat it like a final goodbye. She would come back in one piece — there was no "if."

It wasn’t just a guarantee.

It was a promise.

A promise she made to them... and to herself.

That, and another promise she secretly made when she decided to join the mission.

And so, as dawn approached, helicopters took off from the Zorken main island, carrying Atlas, Lola, and everyone who was part of the mission.

Allen stood in the distance, watching the choppers slowly ascend into the sky. Strong winds whipped against him, dust swirling around from the force, forcing him to squint, but his focus never wavered.

With both the patriarch and matriarch leaving the island, someone had to stay behind. Scarlet was leaving with them—and Baby as well. And since Allen already accompanied Atlas during the Novera visit, there were still too many affairs that needed handling. He had to remain behind and assist Sybil while the rescue team proceeded.

"You may now let the tears fall from your eyes."

Sybil’s elderly voice rang from beside him. She stopped next to him, back slightly hunched, hands folded behind her. She watched the helicopters with a small smile.

"I’m not holding back any tears," Allen replied, eyes still on the sky. "They’re going to be fine."

He paused, nodding to himself as a small smirk tugged at his lips. "I’m sure of it."

"Haha." Sybil let out a light chuckle, almost drowned by the choppers’ roar. "Atlas trained hard all these years. He’s come a long way. I used to worry whenever he left for a mission... and it’s been a while since he joined one personally."

She paused. "The last time... was when the young master and miss were abducted."

Allen smiled faintly as memories resurfaced.

It was no secret that Atlas stayed away from dangerous zones like the plague—not out of fear, but because he knew better. Anyone with common sense avoided battlefields if they could. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

There had been only one time Atlas willingly walked into the heart of danger. That was when someone crossed his line and took his children.

"I have a feeling it’ll happen again," Allen murmured, and Sybil immediately understood. "But surprisingly... I’m not worried."

"Atlas has proven himself."

"Maybe now that the master is away, you can find the time to search for her," Sybil commented casually, no urgency in her tone. "That young lady’s disappearances grow longer every time."

"Mhm," he hummed. "I have work for her as well."

The concern lingered in both of them, but other matters demanded their attention. Still, Sybil glanced at Allen once more.

"Do you really think the madam will be alright in the main rescue team?" she asked. "I don’t know the young lady well, but I like her. I think she’s genuine."

Many had been wary when Atlas announced his marriage. No one knew much about Lola, especially with such clean underground records, which ironically made her suspicious.

But after observing Lola up close, Sybil understood why Atlas chose her. Lola had a large heart—and even when the world shredded that heart into pieces, it remained big. Bigger than most Sybil had ever seen.

Allen smirked and teased, "Want to place a bet on it?"

"Allen, do not let the master’s troublesome siblings influence you. This is a matter of life and death, not something to bet on," Sybil scolded, clicking her tongue repeatedly... only to add, "How much?"

A light chuckle escaped Allen as he tilted his head slightly while they continued walking. Little did they know, they weren’t the only ones treating this life-and-death situation like a gamble.

Even thousands of miles away—specifically in the beautiful country of Anteca—some people were already treating it like a sport... like real jerks.
