Caleb extended his hand with a polite smile. "Caleb Jennings."
Kieran shook it firmly.
As their eyes locked, it was as if an unspoken message passed between them: "We'll each rely on our own skills to win her over."
After the handshake, Caleb turned back to Celeste.
"My coming here made you uncomfortable, didn't it?"
It did.
But she responded tactfully, "A little."
"I figured as much. I knew you'd feel uncomfortable, but I still came." His tone was calm, even apologetic.
"Because I felt that if I didn't try, I'd never know if you might change your mind. But now I've tried, and I know the answer. I'll be more mindful from now on."
So, he was planning to keep pursuing her?
Before Celeste could respond, Caleb turned to Matthias. "Let's save the YodaVision tour for next time. I won't disturb you further."
Matthias had a good impression of Caleb. If Celeste were to start a new relationship after her divorce, he genuinely thought Caleb could be a decent choice.
But since Celeste herself didn't seem interested at the moment, he wasn't about to meddle.
So, he replied courteously, "If you have time, you're always welcome to visit us again, Caleb."
Caleb nodded. Before turning to leave, he glanced one last time at Celeste.
She stood in silence, seemingly deep in thought.
He looked like he wanted to say something more, but in the end, he simply said, "See you next time."
"Take care."
Then, Caleb left.
Earlier, Kieran had thought Caleb and Celeste were already together. But now, he realized it had only ever been a one-sided pursuit.
At first, he'd assumed Celeste and Matthias were dating. But after spending time in the company, he noticed that despite their close working relationship, they didn't act like a couple.
They never came or left together, and there was a distinct lack of romantic behavior.
He'd even confirmed it directly with Celeste—she told him they weren't dating.
The colleague thought for a moment and added, "Ah, right. You only joined this year. Most of the older folks in the department know about it, but since you came later and we've stopped bringing up her personal life as much, it's understandable you didn't know."
Kieran didn't reply.
The fact that Celeste was married had come as a complete shock.
After a moment, he asked, "What's her husband like? Have any of you met him? Do they have a good relationship?"
"We've only ever seen his silhouette during a video call—never his face. No idea who he is."
Then, another colleague added, "As for how their relationship is... It's hard to say, honestly. Celeste's been with YodaVision for a while now, but aside from that one unexpected video appearance last year, her husband's never shown up again. She's also never mentioned him."

I just need an effing glimpse to what goes around in Trevor's mind. Author - do something about it please There is not even a single mention about what Trevor really wants - interested in Celeste? If yes, then why there is no reaction on seeing people courting Celeste...
I love the story bt really death slow... Y cant you post 5 to 10 chapters per day????...
This reads like a daily diary account...and not a story with a planned plotline. Author, we would share if you took the time to start developing the story, rather than dragging it out with outlines. no depth, no character development, not even the overused tropes are present, just a daily itinerary. We want you to do well..but you have to put the work in making it a viable story...
The storyline is moving painfully slow.. Will we ever get to hear Trevor's side of story? Currently the mixed signals from Trevor are just confusing and frustrating. He is using Jordyn to postpone the divorce and side by side ignoring Wynn to the level that he didnt invite her to the Fleming group banquet. But when asked about clarifying divorce to Jordyn, he is not doing so. Awfully frustrating...
Team beck or Caleb. Trevor has wynn saved his contact as 'babe', kissing her in office and spending nights with her. How in initial chapters Trevor pushed jordyn towards wynn without caring about a mother's feelings. Now he is two timing, suddenly interested in Celeste after knowing background and leaving wynnn behind. Spineless man. He knows cels history with her father, still chose to support them. I don't how people are rooting for cel and Trevor. I wish truth comes out. Cel deserves someone who loves her with whole heart. She thrives in her field. Beck saw cel when she was not famous. But Caleb is good option too. I hope Celeste grows spine starts to demand explaination for dragging divorce....
Author - dont you think the story has been dragged as is? Now, you want to include the angle of Wynn being pregnant as well? God, i really want to know Trevor side of story, why is he playing both sides?...
Are they going to compromise for Jordyns sake? I'll be sad for Celeste if that happens. Why is author giving mixed signals in almost every alternate chapter? Initially Trevor and Wynn were always appearing together along with huge PDA, then Trevor seems involved with Celeste - when she was under alcohol influence, then Trevor seemed to be ignoring Wynn - all the while divorce proceedings are still on and now Jordyn is getting depressed because of their situation. Feels like we are just roaming around the bush or the author is making us do that. Sigh!!...
I don't understand where this story is headed to.. I can't seem to know what Trevor is thinking, in late 500 chapters, he was seen dodging the divorce, ignoring Wynn and now at 624, he is planning on how to tell Jordyn about the divorce. This is messed up!...
