Nora smoothly averted her gaze. "Sure, go ahead."
Nolan eagerly grabbed her cup and went back to slurping.
The kidnapper looked genuinely baffled, clearly having never encountered a billionaire's son with such zero class.
He turned and walked back to the table. Nora noticed him carefully placing that specific ham right next to his hand, deepening her suspicions.
"Phew—" Nolan sighed, finally full. "Buddy, when are you calling my dad?"
The reality that this wasn't a movie set had firmly sunk in. He wanted out of this hellhole immediately.
"My dad will seriously pay you."
Initially dismissive, the kidnapper saw how weak and frantic Nolan looked and felt a twinge of interest. "Oh? And how much is your dad willing to pay?"
Nolan gave him a bewildered look. "You don't know? My family's company is worth thirty billion. Sure, we can't liquidate all of that, and my dad obviously isn't handing over the corporation, but if you ask for seventy or eighty million... hell, even a hundred million, it's totally doable. That's roughly what he has in liquid assets."
Nora was speechless.
How on earth did Mr. Devereaux raise such a spectacularly dutiful son?
"Really?" The kidnapper was genuinely tempted.
Nora almost bugged her eyes out. Was she losing her mind? Why wasn't this guy playing by the standard criminal playbook?
"Yeah," Nolan affirmed. Having sold out his own father, he moved on to selling himself out. "My monthly allowance is twelve million."
