Nora looked up at Aaron.
For the past seven years, Aaron might not have been the best boyfriend, but in her mind, he'd at least been passable.
After seeing the man's true colors, Nora finally realized that Aaron had never loved her.
Every time he said it was for her own good, he was actually just manipulating her, getting her to give him everything.
He'd say, “I miss you, I need to see you right now,” and Nora would cross all of Luminport City to go to him.
He said he wasn't ready to talk about marriage, so Nora waited.
But she waited and waited, only to discover the sordid truth in an underground parking garage: Aaron was cheating on her with her own half-sister.
Nora had thought Aaron only turned rotten when he started cheating with Mia.
Now, it seemed the man was rotten to the core; he had just been good at faking it before.
"I'm not going to apologize. I didn't hit her because I misunderstood her relationship with you."
Nora faced everyone's strange looks and said, word by word, "In fact, I've never seen her before and don't know her at all."
The room fell silent at her words.
"Doesn't know her?"
The onlookers exchanged confused glances.
If she'd never seen her or met her, why would she just attack her like she was the other woman?
Aaron hadn't expected Nora to say this, and a flicker of panic crossed his eyes. "Nora…"
Nora ignored him and looked straight at Mia. "You're… Ms. Hayes, is that right? Are you sure I hit you because I thought you were the other woman, getting too close to my boyfriend?"
Nora's gaze burned into Mia.
She was certain Mia wouldn't dare to admit their relationship.
