The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 100

Mrs. Gable stared at her in utter disbelief.

"What do you mean by a dad joke?" Great-Aunt Rosemary asked, her curiosity piqued. "Tell me one."

Alaina put on a deadpan expression. "Aunt Rosemary, what do you call a fake noodle?"

Her great-aunt thought about it seriously for a moment before shaking her head.

"An impasta."

Great-Aunt Rosemary blinked, processing the punchline, before bursting into genuine laughter.

Alaina kept going. "A doctor asks a patient how he managed to break his leg in three places. The patient says, 'Well, I had a bunch of sand in my shoe, so I leaned against a telephone pole to shake it out. Some guy walking by thought I was being electrocuted, so he grabbed a baseball bat and whacked me with it!'"

"Thought he was being electrocuted... that's wonderful!" Great-Aunt Rosemary laughed so hard she had to hold her stomach.

Alaina laughed until her eyes crinkled, but the moment she saw the man suddenly walking into the room, she instinctively clamped her mouth shut.

Silas strolled in with his usual emotionless expression. "Aunt Rosemary."

"Perfect timing," his aunt said, dabbing tears of laughter from her eyes with a tissue. "Alaina, tell him a few. He's famously hard to amuse."

Alaina looked incredibly reluctant, but Silas had already stopped right in front of her, looking at her as if challenging her to entertain him.

Alaina cleared her throat and locked eyes with him. "Why did the scarecrow win an award?"

Silas didn't miss a beat. "Because he was outstanding in his field."

His grave, dead-serious tone entirely murdered the joke.

Refusing to give up, Alaina fired off another. "What do you call a bear with no teeth?"

Silas stared at her. "A gummy bear."

Alaina's competitive spirit flared to life. She crossed her arms and flashed him a wicked, challenging smirk. "What do you get when you cross a snowman and a vampire?"

Silas: "..."

Seeing that he finally didn't have an immediate answer, she announced triumphantly, "Frostbite."

"Oh, my!" Great-Aunt Rosemary practically giggled from her chair.
