The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 246

Alaina smiled, eagerly grabbing his hand to high-five him. "Deal. Once I actually finish it, I'll tell you the wish. We've sealed it with a high-five, so no backing out."

With that, she sprinted back to her room to accelerate her research.

Silas followed her upstairs, leaning against the doorframe of her room. He arched an eyebrow and asked, "What kind of wish gives you this much motivation? I believe in your abilities, so I might consider granting it early."

"No, no, no, no need to grant it early," Alaina waved her hands frantically. "Wait until I finish the chip."

Silas couldn't understand her intense dedication. Looking at her suspicious enthusiasm, he couldn't help but tease, "You're using the chip to block any possibility of me refusing. You're not planning to ask for something outrageous, are you?"

Alaina shot him a sideways glance, smiled, and turned her attention back to the computer screen without saying a word.

She only dared to say it in her head.

'Of course I can't give you the chance to refuse. I want you to see those geneticists, take the genetic test, and live a long, healthy life.'

Remembering Great-Aunt Rosemary's parting instructions, she turned back to Silas. "By the way, I have a problem you need to solve."

"Aunt Rosemary wants me to ask Julian out, and then..."

"A blind date?" Silas finished without hesitation.

Alaina stopped typing and nodded, looking deeply conflicted. "What should I do? Is Julian going to want to kill me?"

Silas let out a low chuckle, a look of understanding flashing in his eyes. "Julian is a gentleman. He won't do anything to you."

His gaze settled on her tense profile, his voice softening. "It's not like he hasn't been forced into blind dates before. He's used to it. He'll just go through the motions to placate Aunt Rosemary."

Alaina bit her lip. "Then you invite him. You be the bad guy."

Silas let out a soft scoff, raising an eyebrow. "You're quite good at passing the buck."

She walked over to him slowly. "I promised Julian that as long as he manages Lockwood Holdings well, I would guarantee him freedom in his marriage."

Alaina nodded as if it all made sense, then looked at him pleadingly. "Then you need to help me figure this out!"
