The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 58

Rosemary explained that in her youth, she was an equestrian champion, taking home several international trophies during her prime.

The back injury was a lingering consequence of her horse-training days.

Caught up in the excitement, she had the butler bring out stacks of photo albums for them to flip through.

Pointing to wedding photos and baby pictures, Rosemary said, "I married late in life, and I was quite old when I finally had my only son."

Looking at the clean-cut, adorable boy in the pictures, Alaina noted that Julian Rowe really hadn't changed much over the years.

"Dr. Rossi, have you ever heard of Lockwood Holdings? That's where my son works," Rosemary boasted.

Alaina nodded, figuring it was best to pretend she didn't know him.

"It's so frustrating," Rosemary complained. "Why are young people so allergic to marriage these days? I tell him to settle down, and he just says he's too busy. Busy with what, I have no idea. And the ones who do get married are constantly getting divorced." Realizing her faux pas, she scrambled to backtrack. "Oh, I didn't mean you, Dr. Rossi! You were right to get divorced. If it's a bad match, you have to cut your losses."

Alaina offered an awkward chuckle.

Turning to the final page of the album, she saw a photo of a young Julian standing next to a teenager with striking, sharp features.

Alaina's heart skipped a beat. The teen had a stern, deeply resentful expression, looking as though he harbored a blood feud with the entire world—a face that perfectly overlapped with someone she knew all too well.

"That's my nephew," Rosemary introduced with a knowing gleam in her eye. "He's hated getting his picture taken since he was a boy. Getting this one shot was basically the ninth wonder of the world."

Alaina forced a stiff smile, a sudden, inexplicable wave of panic causing her to shiver.

Recalling his ruthlessly indifferent face, discussing him like a normal human being felt incredibly unsettling.

Before she knew it, the sun had set, and the butler arrived to announce that dinner was served.

Rosemary excused herself to change clothes, instructing the maid to escort Alaina to the dining room first.

As a polite guest, Alaina simply followed the maid.

The maid pushed open the dining room's ornate glass doors. Warm, golden light flooded out, illuminating an exquisite long dining table.
