The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 8

She shook her head, refusing to stay cooped up in bed any longer.

When she powered on her phone, Ethan's message was the very first to pop up.

[Lily is having trouble getting around, so I'll be taking care of her for a few days.]

She deleted it without a second thought, but remembering the divorce papers, she fired off a quick reply to remind him.

Factoring in the mandatory cooling-off period after signing, she'd have to wait over a month anyway.

Technically, she wasn't breaking her promise to Mrs. Harrington.

A few moments later, Dr. Foster texted her:

[If you're sick of moping around the house, go fill in for me at the science museum tomorrow and run the educational workshop.]

Her energy instantly returned, and she quickly replied: [Will do.]

Back when she was his student, she used to cover for him all the time when he was overwhelmed with work.

This would be a piece of cake.

The next day.

She arrived at the science museum right on time, only to be stopped at the entrance by fully geared security personnel.

The staff member in charge of the youth programs rushed out to apologize. "Ms. Rossi, I'm so sorry. Apex Microelectronics is hosting a tech press conference here today. There's a massive turnout of international journalists, and the Director of The Security Administration is attending in person, so the security protocols have been drastically bumped up."

She smiled and said it was fine, recalling the university research lab she had once been a part of—which had been funded by Apex Microelectronics.

Before abandoning her career, she had planned to work at an Apex research institute after finishing her studies abroad.

Unfortunately, all of that was ancient history.

After wrapping up the educational session for the students, she stood around chatting with them.

The kids eagerly debated wafers and semiconductor chips with her, talking like little experts.

She couldn't help but marvel at how much more the younger generation knew compared to when she was their age.

She had only been out of the industry for three years, but it already felt like the world had sprinted past her.

The lively atmosphere caught the attention of several passersby.
