Draven was recovering in the healing chamber of the heaven realm, with Ember and Morpheus by his side. Evanthe went to Sierra, where Seren was alone by her side, being patient and waiting for her mother to be healed soon.
Solon was there as well; he looked worried.
Evanthe looked at him, gesturing to him to ask what happened. Solon walked away to the other side, and Evanthe followed him. He didn’t want Seren to hear what he was going to say.
"Anything to worry about?" Evanthe asked.
Solon let out a light sigh. "Her body is no longer of a celestial being, but someone from the mortal realm. She was already weak, and now the energy from the celestial hollow seems to have damaged her core gravely."
Evanthe gritted her teeth, her gaze angry as she understood the implications of it. "It must be when that vile deity faked pushing Sierra into the celestial hollow."
Solon nodded. "Though she was not pushed into it, the energy there had still reached her body and harmed it. I am afraid to say that she won’t be with us for long."
Evanthe closed her eyes to hear it as she let out a helpless sigh. She looked back at him. "Is there no way?"
"Lord Solaris and Lord Grianor were here. Both of them did everything they could, but few things are always beyond our control, and more powerful than us. The energy of a celestial hollow is like that. Even the Sovereign can’t overcome it," Solaris added. "If we keep her here in the healing chamber, we can extend her lifetime a little, but it’s like she’s caged here. If we allow her to go, I am afraid not much time is left with her. Now, it’s up to her to decide what she wants to do."
"I know her. She won’t choose to be caged here. Instead, she would ask to return to the mortal world," Evanthe answered.
"Living the last days free and with your own people is better than extending life in a cage," Solon added. "Once she is awake, you can talk to her."
Evanthe nodded and Solon left. Evanthe looked at Seren, who was sitting quietly on the sitting stone next to the platform on which Sierra was lying. She was holding her mother’s frail hand, covered in scales.
Evanthe reached her, placed her hand over her shoulder, ready to say something, but...
"I can feel her life energy fading away," Seren said. "I am trying to provide her strength, but not sure how to." She looked up at Evanthe, her purple eyes moist. "Mother, can you teach me how I can hold on to her energy... to keep her with me...."
Evanthe’s own eyes turned moist. She wanted to say there was no use, but she didn’t want to disappoint the child who had longed for her mother for so long, and when she finally found her, they didn’t have much time left together.
"We will try to find a way," Evanthe told her. "Till then, let’s be by her side."
Seren nodded like an obedient little girl. Evanthe could only feel pity for her.
Drayce arrived there, probably having heard their conversation already.
"Stay by her side," Evanthe told him and left.
Outside, Solon was talking to the angel working in the Healing Chamber, giving her instructions.
Evanthe reached them. Solon excused the angel and turned to her.
"Lord Solon, I refuse to accept that this powerful Heaven Realm doesn’t have any way to help her," she said. "You have to help me find a way. I will do anything, just tell me who can help her or what I can do to save her."
Solon kept his calm and said, "What I told you inside is true, Deity of Water...."
"No," she interrupted him. "There is always a way. We just have to look for it. I am not going to give up on her. She just reunited with her daughter, she needs some time with her." Her expression turned a little angry. "And don’t forget, she saved the Three Realms by not letting the Hellfire fall into Isis’ hands. Every one of you in the Heaven Realm owes her. You can’t just walk away after knowing your world is safe now. Don’t be so ungrateful."
Solon let out another sigh. "Maybe your father or the King of Heaven can find a way. They are the most powerful and most knowledgeable...."
"Take me to them." She was impatient to even let him finish.
Both of them arrived at the Celestial Observatory Terrace from where one could observe the Heavenly Realm. Both the deities were observing the destruction caused by Hellfire around the entire realm. The dark clouds were now gone, and the air in the Heaven Realm was back to its divine and pure nature. The only darkness left was the smoke still rising from the destroyed and burned parts of the Heaven Realm.
The smoke wouldn’t go away anytime soon, as it was the damage caused by the Hellfire. The heat was still active, and they had to wait until it calmed on its own.
The moment Solon and Evanthe appeared there, both celestial beings turned to look at her.
