Chapter 819: Back To The Mortal World

Oriana and Arlan had visited the residence of Oriana’s mother, where she used to stay before getting married into the Demon Realm. She was emotional yet content to see that divine place where the divine wind energy existed even when her mother wasn’t there.

As they entered the residence, Oriana felt as if she could feel her mother’s presence there. The air around her, enveloping her body, felt familiar and provided her the warmth she had been missing.

"Mother," a whisper left Oriana’s lips as she looked around, her eyes moist.

At the other end of the open hall, there was a portrait of a deity. A delicate divine figure rose high up in the bright sunny sky, her simple light-blue dress flowing in the air, her long hair—just like Oriana’s—moved along with the wind. Her hands were radiating the divine energy that controlled the air.

A light smile on her lips showed the calmness and warmth she possessed.

Arlan stopped and let Oriana walk ahead to let her have her moment with her mother.

Oriana stood closer to that portrait above the altar where flowers were arranged and incense was burning.

"I wish you were still with me," Oriana mumbled. "I regained the memories from the past, but they still don’t feel enough to know you—to feel you. I should have been like an ordinary daughter when you were with me, but instead, I was drowned in the goal of proving myself and trained to be powerful so I could go to the depths of Hell and get Soulreaver. I was immersed in proving that sword was meant for me. I got it, but then, I lost you. I wish I could go back and change everything."

Tears rolled down her eyes.

"When you came for me again in the mortal world to bring me back, I lost you once more even before we could have a few moments together that I could even remember. You left me after bringing me back. Why couldn’t you wait a little more? All I want is to see you once more—to be your daughter, even if it means only for a few moments. Could you really not wait for me to grow up?"

Seeing her crying, Arlan finally went to her. He put his hand around her shoulder and pulled her closer to comfort her.

Just then, on the altar, something happened. A small whirlpool of air formed; it radiated energy rays that shone like gold.

Both of them, stunned, looked at it to know what was happening.

In a few moments, that whirlpool had disappeared, leaving a beautiful golden lotus behind, crafted from divine energy.

It looked like a similar lotus in which Oriana’s mother had sealed the golden dragon’s soul.

"It’s for you, Princess Esmerray," a voice came through.

Both of them turned to look at the angel who came to them.

The angel bowed to them and said, "I am Angel Dara. I served the Deity of Air in the past when she was still part of the Heaven Realm. When she left the Heaven Realm, I have been taking care of this residence since then. Though she is not with us, her presence—her essence—never left this place. You can feel it, right?"

Oriana nodded.

Dara continued, "Back then, your mother crafted two divine lotuses. One she used to shelter the dragon’s soul, while one she placed somewhere that only she knew. It never appeared here before. But in your presence, it has shown up—that means she is offering it to you as her blessing."

Oriana looked back at the lotus and then to Arlan. He offered her a nod. "I also believe it’s for you."

Oriana then lifted that lotus in her hands. It didn’t reject her.
