The children had been staying at Gonzales Manor for the past few days.
The moment Caitlin parked the car, Jasper, Silas, and Gemma came running, latching onto her legs.
"Mommy home!"
"L-love you, Mommy!"
A Lamborghini purred to a stop beside them. Gordon Sylvester stepped out, feigning a pout. "Doesn't anyone want to welcome Daddy?"
Jasper immediately whipped out a toy gun and pointed it at Gordon. "Pew, pew! Get the big monster!"
Silas stepped in front of Gordon, acting as a shield. "No! Daddy's not a big monster!"
A warmth spread through Gordon's chest. He bent down and scooped Silas into his arms, his face beaming with affection. "That's my boy! See? All that love and attention wasn't for nothing!"
He planted a loud kiss on Silas's cheek.
Silas immediately wiped his face with a look of disgust.
Gordon froze. What was he, something dirty?
Before he could process it, Silas produced his own toy gun and pressed it to Gordon's head. "Big bad guy! Don't move, or I'll shoot ya! Pew, pew!"
Gordon's face fell. So that's what this was about. The little rascal had been setting him up.
The scene sent Caitlin into a fit of laughter, bending over as she giggled.
Gordon put Silas down with an exaggerated sigh of annoyance.
Gemma immediately toddled over, reaching her arms up to Gordon for a hug.
Seeing his precious daughter, Gordon's heart instantly melted. He lifted her into his arms. "Gemma's the only good one around here, unlike your two useless brothers!"
Gemma wrapped her arms around Gordon's neck and planted a big, wet kiss on his cheek.
