Gordon was floored. He set down what he was holding and said, "Gemma, say 'Dad' for me!"
"Daddy!" Gemma looked at Gordon, her eyes welling up with tears. "Quick, you have to save Silas! He's in danger… he's not moving!"
Just then, Silas and Jasper walked in from outside.
"Mom! Dad!" Jasper stood with his arms crossed, acting like a little grown-up. "So? Pretty smart, right? All it took was a little trick to get my sister to talk."
Caitlin looked from Jasper and Silas to Gemma standing nearby, and the pieces clicked into place. She smiled and asked, "Was this your idea?"
"Yup," Jasper said, running a hand through his bangs with a smug look. "What can I say? I'm just that good! Mom, try not to be too impressed."
Gordon nodded slightly. "Well, Jasper, you definitely deserve the credit this time. Name your reward. Anything you want, Dad will get it for you."
Silas, standing to the side, was speechless. He was the one who had made the biggest sacrifice! He'd almost broken his tailbone for this act, and now Jasper was getting all the glory?
That brother of his was too sneaky!
Silas spoke up, his voice full of mock grievance. "Mom! Dad! Jasper just came up with the idea. I was the one who actually did something! My butt is black and blue from trying to get my sister to talk."
He wasn't about to take this lying down.
He had his own ways of making his voice heard.
He wasn't going to let his brother take all the credit.
"Let me see!" Caitlin said, instantly worried. She moved to pull down Silas's pants to check for bruises.
Silas immediately clapped his hands over his backside. "It's fine, it's fine, Mom! It only hurts a little! But… if you were to maybe slip me a little cash prize, I bet it would stop hurting completely!"
"Me too, me too!" At the mention of money, Jasper's eyes lit up. "Mom, you can't play favorites. I may not have contributed my butt like Silas, but I was the brains of the operation! Without me, Silas could have fallen on ten butts and it wouldn't have worked."
Caitlin reached out and gently poked both boys on the head. "Alright, you both get something."
After handing them some money, Caitlin looked at Gordon. "Look at these two little money-lovers. They're definitely your kids, Mr. Sylvester!"
Gordon cleared his throat. "Nonsense. I was never that obsessed with money when I was a kid."
"Oh, really?" Caitlin raised an eyebrow. "Because I heard from Mom that a certain someone used to charge kids to copy his homework. Two dollars a subject, wasn't it?"
"That… that just proves I had business sense from a young age!" Gordon retorted.

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
