The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 122

Nora and Jasmine flanked Cassidy, supporting her all the way to the recovery lounge.

"I have food in my bag," Cassidy murmured.

Nora opened Cassidy's designer bag and pulled out a heart-shaped meal prep container.

Jasmine leaned in, staring in amazement at the elaborate and beautifully arranged food inside. "You cooked this yourself?"

"Are you kidding?" A tiny, delicate fork was conveniently tucked inside the container. Cassidy popped a piece of apple—sliced perfectly into the shape of a star—into her mouth, followed by two cubed hard-boiled eggs. "My fitness coach prepped it for me."

"Who?!" Nora and Jasmine blurted out in perfect unison.

"My fitness coach."

"Your fitness coach cooks for you now?"

"He said he'd handle my meals."

"Does he know you're married?"

"What are you two thinking!" Cassidy glared at them. "My mother-in-law hired him. She said my stamina was terrible and that I needed to focus on staying active during the pregnancy."

"Oh..."

They barely managed a few minutes of small talk before Cassidy's phone buzzed in her pocket.

Assuming it was a work call, she quickly dropped the little fork and fished the phone out.

The caller ID read: Parker Quincy.

To answer or not to answer? Cassidy was instantly annoyed by the dilemma.

In the end, she pressed accept.

"Cassidy Quinn." Parker skipped the pleasantries, biting out her full name. "Did you move out of the house?"

Cassidy frowned. "What?"

Parker snapped, "When did you move out? Who gave you permission to leave?!"
