They were educated well enough to know basic human decency.
More importantly, almost everyone in the chat personally knew Yates.
They had all grown up together in the same gated community.
The difference was that Yates actually worked for his family's company. He wasn't a useless playboy, so he rarely ran with their crowd anymore.
He acted like he was vastly superior to them.
And now, Mr. Superior was doing something unspeakably filthy.
Bullying one of their own's sister, no less.
Oh, it was on.
In less than thirty minutes, the mob of supercars completely abandoned the supplier's blockade and swarmed the Evergreen Wellness Center.
Parker had his own beef with Yates.
At Parker and Cassidy's wedding, Yates had publicly humiliated Parker by mocking his inability to drink his own wife under the table.
Parker had been holding a grudge ever since.
This was the perfect chance to kick him while he was down!
Parker desperately tried to join the raid, but his father physically locked him in the house, leaving him to orchestrate the assault via voice notes.
After rendezvousing with a hyperventilating Nathan, the mob, fueled by Parker's remote cheerleading, kicked down Valery's hospital door.
Mr. Smith was so stunned he didn't even get a word out before they surged past him.
Inside, Yates was currently holding Valery's hand, whispering something to her.
Yates was completely exhausted. He had spent the last week begging his father for help while desperately trying to plug the leaks in the Smith family's collapsing empire.
Mentally drained, he had come to Valery seeking emotional comfort, and hoping to convince her to call off Jasmine's attack.
Jasmine teaming up with Felix to destroy both their families was pure treason.
But mid-sentence, a dozen of his old neighbors stormed into the room.
The guy leading the charge saw Yates clutching her hand and roared, "You son of a bitch, Yates! How dare you touch my brother's sister!"
That physical contact was all the proof they needed.
The guys pouring in behind him instantly joined the dogpile. "Unbelievable. Dresses like a saint, acts like a pig."
The second Yates fought back, the mob saw red.
They dogpiled him, beating the living daylights out of him right there on the floor.
Realizing the situation had totally imploded, Mr. Smith bolted down the hall, screaming for the nurses to call security.
The nurses took one look at the brawl and immediately dialed the police.
By the time the cops arrived, Yates was being forcibly pinned to the floor by three guys, screaming apologies at Valery.
As the officers intervened, Caleb pointed a shaking, furious finger at Yates. "Arrest him! Arrest him right now! He assaulted our sister! We all saw him! Look at her, she's practically paralyzed!"
By the time Jasmine, who was busy packing winter clothes back at her apartment, heard the news, the police were already interviewing Valery in private.
And Valery was the one who personally made the phone call.
"Jasmine," she whispered over the line. "The police are asking what Yates did to me. Can I tell them?"
