Nora hesitated. "...I, I don't really know much about this."
"Alright, enough about you," Cassidy ordered him. "Hurry up and sing a song for Nora. Cheer her up."
Felix was a natural entertainer.
He had a great voice, could breakdance, and possessed a warm, outgoing personality that never let the conversation die.
The atmosphere in the room quickly heated up.
Cassidy shoved a beer into Nora's hand. "Drink up. Liquid courage."
Nora tried to decline. "I drove here."
"I've got a bun in the oven, so I can't drink. I'll drive you back later."
"Alright then."
Alcohol really was a magical thing.
After an evening of friendly banter, Nora and Felix were getting along like long-lost siblings.
"Nora, why don't you play my long-lost wealthy sister in the videos! When you walked in earlier, I immediately felt this connection. You look exactly like my actual sister."
"Um, but I don't know how to act."
"That's okay, I'll teach you! I actually graduated from The Juilliard School!"
"Oh, okay. You teach me."
Cassidy was speechless.
Teach her my ass.
Once Nora had a few drinks in her, she turned into a gullible sweetheart.
"What are you doing!" Cassidy yanked hard to free her arm, but Parker's grip was like a vice, his muscles tense. He was too strong for her to break loose.
"You're hurting me!" she snapped, furrowing her brows.
Hearing the commotion, Felix threw open his door and jumped out. "Cassidy!"
He shielded her with one arm while gripping Parker's forearm with his other hand. "Let go!" he ordered coldly.
Felix looked like a pretty boy, but he packed a punch. He pinched a nerve in Parker's arm perfectly, sending a sharp pain that forced him to release his grip.
Cassidy rubbed her arm and pulled Felix back a few steps.
That defensive gesture completely set Parker off.
Parker glared viciously at Cassidy. "Are you still mad that I let Seraphina sit in the passenger seat? You purposely found another guy to piss me off, didn't you?"
Cassidy couldn't listen to this garbage anymore. She yelled back, "Can you stop being so damn unreasonable!"
