Chapter 148 Eight Seconds
As for Stefan and Gavin? New faces. Colby had never seen them before.
So it wasn’t hard to guess whose side he’d take. Besides, Fidel actually had the bruises to show for it.
“Fidel, I wasn’t gonna bother with you. To me, you’re just a speck of dust. I flick you away, and you’re gone.”

Stefan’s voice dropped, suddenly cold. “But you keep jumping around in front of me, begging for it. You wanna make this personal?”
Fidel sneered, “Stefan, who do you think you’re fooling with that tough talk?
“Colby’s here. You don’t get to play big shot. Tonight, you crawl-or you deal with the consequences.”
“Fidel, you bastard! You’re deliberately provoking him!”
Margery’s voice shook with rage. Phone in hand, she glared at Colby and his men. “I’m calling the police. Try anything and see what happens.”
“The police won’t get here fast enough.” Colby grinned, ugly and mean. “Plenty of time to break both their legs. Lady, this doesn’t concern you. Stay out, or you’ll regret it.”
“Margery, this loser durnped you. He’s here with other women. I’m doing you a favor.” Fidel’s voice dripped with false righteousness. “Just let me handle it.”
Margery’s words lashed out, raw and furious.
“Fidel, you’re the one who needs handling! This is all your doing/How could I never see what a snake you are?”
Fidel’s face darkened. He ignored her and turned to Colby. “Colby, this punk hasn’t said a word about making this right. He doesn’t respect your authority. Time to remind him who runs this place.”
Colby nodded. A wave of his hand. “Take them.”
“Stay back! Anyone who comes closer gets a bottle to the skull!”
Gavin raised his weapon, voice booming. He shot a glance at Stefan-still lounging on the couch, one hand absently stroking that black-stockinged thigh like nothing was happening.
Gavin edged closer, voice low. “I’ll charge them. You find a way out. I can fight my way clear too.”
Stefan had already sized up Colby. A martial artist, sure-but only at the Warrior Realm. Not even a Hidden Force Grandmaster.
Still, even at that level, he’d wipe the floor with Gavin. This wasn’t high school hallway brawling anymore.
But Stefan knew Gavin meant well. Back in the day, Gavin had always been the fiercer fighter.
Times had changed.
“Gavin. Sit. Have a drink Stofan smiled

“One hand?” Colby laughed, “Break that hand first. Let’s see how he handles anything then.”
The thugs closed in. Some pulled out iron bars.

Gavin tensed, ready to throw himself into the fray. Stefan’s hand on his arm stopped him. Putted him back onto the couch.
Then Stefan moved. Like an arrow off a string.
The room turned into a shooting gallery.
One thug flew, crashing into the TV.
Another rocketed upward-hit the ceiling, took out a light, then slammed back down.
A third slid face-first across the floor, leaving a trail of blood.
One after another.
In the blink of an eye, all twelve thugs were down.
