The Extraordinary Bride Of The Wyndham Family (Isla and Gabriel) novel Chapter 195

A bodyguard opened the back door of Carl’s black car and stepped aside.

Carl came out first. He adjusted his suit calmly before turning back and stretching out his hand. Delphine placed her hand in his, and he helped her down carefully, his grip firm and reassuring.

The moment her feet touched the ground, her heart began to race.

“I’m so scared, Carl,” she whispered, clutching his arm tightly. “Are you sure about this?”

Her eyes were wide with fear and uncertainty.

Delphine still could not believe that the Wyndham family was truly ready to welcome her into their home. She knew her past in this family was ugly. She knew her name carried a bad record, judgment, and resentment.

But becoming a Wyndham was an ambition she could never let go.

Never.

Carl turned to her and smiled softly. His voice was gentle and full of assurance.

“I told you before,” he said calmly. “My parents are expecting us. They already approved of you. So relax and just be yourself.”His words were sweet, but they did little to calm the storm inside her.

Delphine nodded slowly, forcing a small smile, even though her chest felt tight. Fear and excitement mixed together inside her, twisting her thoughts. She wanted to jump for joy, but her conscience would not allow it.

Carl’s hand moved to the small of her back, guiding her forward.

“Come,” he said quietly.

They walked toward the large entrance of the Wyndham family estate.

The mansion stood tall and grand, just as Delphine remembered. She inhaled deeply.

Relax, she told herself.

Stephen, the family’s butler, stood at the entrance waiting for them. His face was calm and unreadable as always.

“Welcome, Mr. Wyndham. Miss Winthrope,” he greeted respectfully. “Your parents are waiting for you. Please, come with me.”

They followed behind him through the long hallway.

Delphine’s heels echoed softly against the polished floor.

The air felt heavy, almost suffocating.

Stephen stopped in front of the drawing room. He . knocked once, then opened the door and stepped aside.Carl led Delphine inside.

The moment she entered, all eyes turned to her.

John Wyndham sat on a large sofa beside his wife, Gladys.

His posture was straight, his face serious but calm. Gladys sat close to him, her hands fotded neatly on her lap, her eyes soft but tired.

Beside them sat Landon and Mia.

Landon leaned back slightly, his arms resting on his thighs. His face was unreadable. Mia sat quietly next to him, composed and distant, as if she had already learned to shut herself away from family drama.

On the right side of the room sat Sia, Wyatt’s wife.

Delphine’s eyes scanned the room quickly and found that Gabriel was not there.

Relief washed over her, but it was quickly replaced by shame. She could not bring herself to look directly at them. After all, she was once known as Gabriel’s girlfriend.

Carl cleared his throat.

“Father, Mother,” he said firmly. “Everyone. I want you to meet my fiancée.”

He turned slightly and held Delphine’s hand.

“This is Delphine Winthrope.”The word fiancée echoed in the room, causing Sia to scoff loudly and rolled her eyes. She could not believe what she was seeing.

One brother was not enough.

Delphine had been with Gabriel, and now she stood proudly beside Carl-all for money and power.

Sia shook her head slowly.

She used to be kind to Delphine in the past, back when Anna still ruled the family. But now, disgust filled her chest. The shamelessness was too much.
