The Extraordinary Bride Of The Wyndham Family (Isla and Gabriel) novel Chapter 235

“Mummy, mummy! Sabastian is still playing games. He won’t listen-to me,” Elara complained as she ran into Isla’s room.

Isla was inside the walk-in closet, standing between rows of neatly arranged clothes, still searching for a particular outfit. She turned her head toward her daughter immediately.

“Elara, go and get ready,” Isla said calmly. “I will get Sabastian myself, okay?”

“Okay, mummy,” Elara replied cheerfully.

She quickly ran out and headed back to her room.

Isla sighed softly and turned her attention back to the closet.

“Gabriel, you really need to do something about Sabastian now,” she called out. “We are already running late.”

Gabriel was already fully dressed. His black suit fitted his body perfectly, clean and sharp. His dark brown hair was neatly styled, and everything about him looked controlled and effortless.

He stepped away from the vanity mirror and walked back into the walk-in closet where Isla was still searching.

He paused in front of her.”How do I look?” he asked.

Isla finally stopped what she was doing. She looked him up and down, her eyes narrowing slightly as if she were judging him seriously. Then she straightened up and smiled.

Her fingers reached out to adjust his tie, making sure it sat perfectly against his shirt.

“You look like the man I fell in love with,” she said softly.”

Dashing, dazzling, and exquisite.”

Gabriel chuckled, clearly pleased. He pulled her closer to his chest, lowering his head slightly.

“Hm,” he murmured. “Show me.”

Isla laughed and pushed him away gently.

“Go away,” she said playfully. “Don’t tempt me. Go and get Sabastian ready, or we’ll be late. And I know that’s not what you want.”

Gabriel groaned in frustration, clearly unhappy that she refused to kiss him.

Without another word, he turned and walked out, heading straight for Sabastian’s room.

He opened the door and froze.

Sabastian was sitting comfortably in his gaming chair, headphones on, completely locked into the game in frontof him. His fingers moved fast on the controller, his eyes glued to the screen.

He didn’t look like a boy who was about to go anywhere.

Gabriel strode toward him without hesitation. He reached out and pulled the headphones off in one smooth movement, startling the boy.

Sabastian jumped slightly and turned around.

“Dad,” he said quickly, immediately exiting the game.

Gabriel stood there, his arms crossed over his chest. His eyes were calm but warning.

Sabastian understood the look.

He didn’t say another word. He quickly got up and rushed toward his closet to get dressed.

While his son was gone, Gabriel calmly walked over and turned off every electronic device in the room.

No distractions left behind.

If it were left to Sabastian, he would leave everything exactly the way it was. He never remembered to turn anything off. The boy was clumsy like that.

A few minutes later, Sabastian came out of his closet dressed in a dark suit. The tie around his neck was crooked and badly done. Gabriel noticed it.He sat on the edge of the bed and gestured to the boy.

Come here.”

Sabastian walked closer obediently.

Gabriel gently adjusted the tie, straightening it carefully.

Everyone held a bouquet of flowers. Elara clutched hers tightly, as if letting go would make her lose something important. The children walked behind their parents, bodyguards surrounding them like a protective shield.

When they reached Sir Alfred Wyndham’s burial ground, they stopped.

His grave lay there peacefully, his name and picture carefully etched into the stone.

The children remained silent.

Isla placed the golden box gently beside the grave, along with her flowers. Gabriel did the same. The children followed their parents’ movements quietly.

“Grandfather,” Isla began softly.

She wasn’t crying. Her face was calm and still.

“We’ve missed you,” she continued. “Your great-grandchildren are here with us. They wanted to say hello too.”

She spoke for a long time, telling him everything she had kept in her heart. Gabriel watched her closely. He thought she would cry, but she didn’t. And that made him proud.

When Isla was done, Gabriel spoke briefly. His words were few, but sincere.

After that, they all stood there in silence.

Aurelian stared at the picture on the grave, his expression unreadable.”Mummy,” Elara finally broke the silence. “Is that grandfather?” she asked softly.

– Isla smiled and shook her head gently, about to explain.

But before she could speak, Aurelian spoke first.

“Elara,” he said calmly, “this is Sir Alfred Wyndham. He is our great-grandfather. Daddy’s father, John, is our grandfather. And this is his father.”

“Oh,” Elara said, nodding. “Now I understand.”

Gabriel and Isla exchanged a smile.

Aurelian was a very smart child. Isla realized she was only just beginning to understand him.
