“You silly kid. I’m only lending it to you,” Fulvio interrupted. “Regular packaging doesn’t preserve freshness well enough Once you officially go full–time, this case will be yours.”
At that moment, Newman bowed deeply.
A faint wave of dizziness washed over him as the warp jump ended.
When he opened his eyes, he could already see the blue oceans and continental outlines of Aqualune Planet beyond the cabin window.
Two hours later, carrying the insulated storage case, he walked out of the spaceport and took a public shuttle back to the Seventh District.
The moment he reached the apartment building, he saw his younger sister, Irene Pattson, waiting downstairs.
“Newman!” The little girl ran toward him, her eyes sparkling. “Korbin is doing homework, so I came to pick you up!”
Newman ruffled her hair. When he noticed she was still wearing the same faded school uniform washed pale from overuse, his chest tightened.
Next month, he was definitely buying new clothes for both of them when he got paid.
He went upstairs and opened the door. The small apartment was filled with the smell of food.
His younger brother, Korbin Pattson, poked his head out from the kitchen. “Newman, dinner is almost ready. Just wait a sec!”
“No rush.” Newman placed the insulated case on the table. “Come look at this first.”
The moment he opened the lid and revealed the neatly arranged fruits and vegetables inside, both his younger siblings stopped breathing for a second.
The top layer held glowing Moondew Grapes, their soft blue radiance shimmering like stars in the dim apartment.
In the middle were Rainbowvine Tomatoes, their naturally formed rainbow streaks so beautiful that they looked unreal.
At the bottom were the farm’s newest Honeycrisp Apples. Even through the protective wrapping, their sweet fragrance drifted in the room.
“Newman, th–this has to cost a fortune…” Korbin’s voice trembled slightly.
“It’s not expensive. Employees get special pricing, so it’s pretty affordable.” Newman tried to sound casual. “Doesn’t your schoo have a Sharing Day next week? You can bring these.”
Irene carefully lifted a cluster of Moondew Grapes, the glow flowing across her tiny hands. “They’re so pretty. Leyla brought som before. She said her dad waited in line for three days just to buy them.”
Korbin picked up a Honeycrisp Apple, hesitated for a moment, and then handed it to Newman. “You should eat first.”
Newman’s nose stung. He pushed it back gently. “I eat these every day at the farm. These are for you two.”

His siblings treated the inuit like a festival feast, covering the tiny table with it and gazing at it admiringly, reluctant to take even a
bite.
In the end, Newman was the one who forcibly sliced the appie and handed pieces to the two of them.
“So sweet!” Irene’s eyes curved. “It’s a hundred times better than the nutrient Fruit mash they give us at school!”
Korbin chewed slowly before suddenly saying, “Newman, Hansel was bragging again today. He said his family used connections to get Tycoon Farm’s tomatoes.”
He lowered his voice. “He said our family would never be able to afford them…”
Newman set down the apple core and looked at his brother. “Then tomorrow, you can tell him I work at Tycoon Farm. These fruits are internal employee supplies from our farm.”
Korbin looked up, his eyes instantly lighting up.
The next day’s school Sharing Day became a major turning point in both Irene and Korbin’s student lives.
When Irene brought out the jelly made from Moondew Grapes, the classroom fell silent for a few seconds before erupting into astonished cries.
“Irene, are these real Moondew Grapes?”
“My mom went to the direct–sale store five times and still couldn’t get any!”
“The jelly glows! That’s amazing!”
Standing at the front of the classroom, Irene nervously clenched the corner of her clothes with her little fists, but her voice was clear. “My big brother brought them back from the farm. He works at Tycoon Farm.”
“Whoa!” Envious gasps rose one after another.
Hansel Welsh, the rich kid who always loved showing off, was sitting in the back row. He changed expressions several times befo finally walking over and quietly asking, “Irene, does your brother really work there?”
“Mhm.” Irene nodded, straightening her back for the first time in front of the classmate who always mocked her old clothes.
“Then… Could your brother help buy some Honeycrisp Apples? My mom really wants some…”
Remembering her brother’s reminder, Irene shook her head. “My brother said the farm has rules. Employee purchases are only f personal use. He can’t buy for other people.”
Hansel walked away disappointed, but the way he looked at Irene had completely changed.
