The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 382

Jace met her gaze, his tone even. “No, I didn’t.”

“Oh, come on. You’re really going to deny it? You didn’t look at me at all?”

Jace fell silent. Of course he’d looked. He wasn’t blind.

Lilly’s cheeks turned pink, her pretty, delicate face burning with embarrassment. She’d thought it was Ella at the door, not him. The memory made her want to crawl under a rock.

“So… what did you see? And what did you hear?” Lilly pressed.

Jace kept quiet, refusing to answer.

She glared at him. “What, cat got your tongue?”

After a moment, Jace finally spoke. “You said you wanted a D cup…”

Lilly gasped, instantly reaching up to slap her hand over his mouth. “Don’t say another word!”

Her palm was pressed to his lips, and suddenly they were standing way too close. Jace looked down, straight into her eyes. They were so bright and warm, full of sunlight, just like the first time he’d met her.

It had been raining that day. He’d saved her by accident, back when she still had the birthmark on her face. But her eyes had always been this beautiful.

He gently pulled her hand away. “I wasn’t going to say anything. You kept pushing.”

She huffed. “You’re impossible.”

Jace took a step toward the door. “I’m leaving.”

But Lilly jumped in his way, blocking the exit. “Hold on. You saw everything. What are you going to do about it, huh?”

Then she noticed the scars. So many, crisscrossing his skin, some old and faded, some still pink and new.

How had he gotten so many scars?

She reached out, wanting to trace one gently with her finger.

But before she could touch him, Jace caught her wrists and pinned them above her head, pressing her gently against the wall. He leaned in, his tall frame right up against her. “I just looked. I didn’t touch.”

So she wasn’t allowed to touch.

Lilly blinked, her lashes fluttering. She hadn’t expected him to get so close. His cool, handsome face was right there, just inches from hers. She stammered, her voice barely a whisper. “A-are you… are you pinning me on the wall?”

Jace tensed, only now realizing how close their bodies were, her wrists trapped above her head, their chests pressed together. The air between them was electric, full of tension neither of them dared to break.
