Peter jumped in right away. “Mom, don’t say another word.”

Grandma Jill fell silent, understanding how serious this was.

Rachel was dying to hear more, hoping for some juicy secret, but the conversation slammed to a halt. She looked disappointed, straining her ears for anything more.

Meanwhile, Jessa and Maureen circled the fake Doctor E. “You scammer! Hand our money back, right now!”

“Seriously? You thought you could mess with the Irvine family and get away with it? Are you out of your mind?”

The two of them let all their anger out on the man. After all, thanks to this fake Doctor E, the Irvine family had been through hell these past few days.

Grandma Jill took charge again. “We’ve got him now. Let’s just focus on getting our money back.”

Peter and Logan both nodded. “Agreed.”

Across the street, a Rolls-Royce sat quietly, engine idling, as the people inside watched everything play out.

Aiden shook his head in disbelief. “Boss, Ms. Irvine really did find the fake Doctor E before we did. She even brought him right here. I can’t shake the feeling there’s something mysterious about her. Am I just imagining things?”

David sat in the back seat, his gaze unreadable. If it was just Aiden’s imagination, then David was having the same illusion. Ella definitely seemed to have more going on than she let on.

David finally spoke. “Follow her. Let’s see where she goes.”

“Yes, sir,” Aiden replied.

The bodyguards nodded to him. “Mr. Lawrence.”

Wyatt strode up to Ella. “You’re here. Come on, let’s go in.”

Ella nodded. Together, they walked into the private suite.

David stood rooted to the spot, stunned to see Wyatt here.

Aiden caught on quickly. “So that’s Wyatt. Ms. Irvine must have come to see him. Those bodyguards must be his people. I totally misread this. I thought Ms. Irvine had some kind of secret identity.”

Just moments ago, David had felt like he was right on the edge of the truth, but with Wyatt’s appearance, everything shifted.

Aiden kept thinking out loud. “It all makes sense now. Mr. Lawrence is probably the one who managed to catch the fake Doctor E so quickly. Ms. Irvine has been trying to get her father’s ashes back, so she must have teamed up with Mr. Lawrence to pull this whole thing off. They made the Irvine family come begging for help. That explains everything. I guess we were just overcomplicating things.”
