The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 515

David tried to push Jessa away, but she held on even tighter. She looked up from his arms and gave Ella a bright, almost smug smile. It was the kind of smile that povoked you to get jealous.

Ella didn’t react. Her face stayed calm and unreadable.

Jessa turned to her. “Ella, are you here for me?”

Ella ignored her and looked straight at David. “Mr. Harmon, I need a word with you.”

David hadn’t expected Ella to come find him. He started to get up, but Jessa clung to him, refusing to let go. “David, please, don’t go. My heart doesn’t feel right…”

Lilly had had enough. “Jessa, cut it out.”

But Jessa just hugged David tighter. “David, you promised you’d stay with me. I don’t want you to leave.”

David frowned. “Jessa, let go. I’ll be back in a minute.”

“I don’t want to. I’m not letting you go.” Jessa shot Ella a challenging look.

Ella’s eyes were calm and steady as she looked down at Jessa. There was a trace of mockery in her gaze, like she was silently asking, Is this really all you’ve got? Pretending to be me, stealing my pendant… your tricks are getting old.

Ella gave Jessa a look that said she wasn’t impressed, then turned to David with a cold little smile. “David, I’ll wait for you outside.”

With that, she walked out.

Lilly looked at David. “You’d better go. Ella has something important to tell you. If you don’t hear her out, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life.”

Then Lilly left too.

David looked at Jessa. “Jessa, let go!”

His voice was sharper now, leaving no room for argument.

Jessa finally let go. David stood up, stretched his long legs, and walked out.

Ella turned around slowly. Her clear, beautiful eyes met his. “Yeah. I wanted to ask you something.”

“What is it?”

“It’s about you and Jessa.”

David paused, surprised. He knew Ella wasn’t someone who cared for gossip. She’d never asked about him and Jessa before.

“What do you want to know?”

Ella looked straight at him. “I heard Jessa saved your life once. Is that true?”

David’s whole body went rigid. “Lilly told you, didn’t she?”

Ella nodded. “Yes. Lilly told me. She said years ago, you were hurt, and Jessa saved you in a cave?”
