The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 525

Lilly and Fiona stood on either side of Ella, both giving her the same look. It was that silent message, the kind that said, Go ahead, enjoy yourself for now. Your turn is coming.

Jessa frowned. Something about Ella was off today, and the more she thought about it, the more uneasy she felt. Why had Ella suddenly agreed to do her heart surgery? That didn’t make sense. Did Ella figure something out? No, she quickly told herself, that couldn’t be it. If Ella really knew anything, she would have told David, but everything had been quiet on her end.

Jessa took a deep breath, trying to calm down. She was probably just being paranoid. In a little while, she’d be having her surgery, and her new life would finally begin.

Just then, Maureen spoke up. “Mr. Harmon.”

Jessa turned and saw David walking in, looking as handsome and composed as ever. Her heart skipped a beat as she hurried over and slipped her arm through his. “David, you made it.”

David glanced at her for a moment, then looked straight at Ella.

Ella met his eyes and spoke calmly. “Mr. Harmon, today’s the day we made our deal. As promised, I need to see Wyatt before the surgery. Where is he?”

Jessa jumped in with a teasing laugh. “Ella, you and Wyatt are really close. He’s all you ever talk about.”

She turned to David. “Since she misses him so much, why not let Wyatt come out?”

Fiona looked like she could barely stop herself from rolling her eyes. If she could, she’d probably give Jessa a piece of her mind right there. Jessa always knew how to make herself the center of attention.

David turned to Ella. “I keep my word,” he said simply.

He signaled with his hand, and Aiden appeared, leading Wyatt in.

Wyatt kept his arm around Ella as he walked her over to David. “Thank you, Mr. Harmon, for your hospitality. If you ever come to Country F, I’ll make sure to return the favor.”

The two men stood face to face, the tension between them almost sparking in the air. David’s expression didn’t change. “I don’t think you’ll get that chance, Wyatt,” he replied coolly.

Jessa, growing impatient, spoke up. “Ella, you’ve seen Wyatt now. So, as we agreed, you can do my surgery.”

Ella’s lips curved in a small, knowing smile. “Jessa, Mr. Harmon kept his promise, so of course, I’ll keep mine. Let’s go. Time for the operating room.”

It was finally happening. Jessa’s eyes shone with excitement. She’d finally reached this point, and Ella was the one who would help her get healthy again.

Grandma Jill squeezed Jessa’s hand. “Go on, Jessa. We’re all going to be right here waiting for you. Come back to us safe and well.”
