The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 587

“Shut up, Lucas!” Lilly snapped.

Lucas jerked away from her and charged at Jace, fist cocked, ready to swing again.

But this time, Jace caught his punch easily and shoved him hard. Lucas stumbled backward and landed on the ground with a thud.

Lilly rushed in front of Lucas, blocking him from Jace. “Jace, that’s enough, stop.”

Jace looked at her, his eyes cold. “That punch makes us even.”

If he hadn’t let it happen, Lucas never would have gotten close in the first place.

Lilly froze, not sure what to say.

Jace’s gaze lingered on her. “Take Lucas and leave. I don’t want to see either of you again.”

He turned around and walked away.

“Jace!” Lilly called after him, her voice trembling.

He hesitated for a second but didn’t turn back.

Right then, Lilian hurried over and slipped her arm through Jace’s. “Jace, what are you doing out here?”

She glanced at Lilly and Lucas, curiosity flickering in her eyes. “Do you know them?”

Jace barely moved his lips. His voice was ice. “No.”

Lilian’s face lit up in a bright smile. “Come on, let’s go back inside. My dad’s here and he was just asking where you went.”

Jace nodded. “Alright.”

He walked away with Lilian, never once looking back.

He left. And this time, he left with another girl.

Lilly just stood there, frozen in place, tears blurring her vision as she watched Jace disappear.

Lucas got up, brushing off his jeans. “Do you see it now, Lilly? That’s the guy you like. He broke your heart. He’s not good for you. Forget about him.”

Lilly turned to Lucas, her eyes shining with anger. “Jace isn’t a good person? What about you, Lucas? Are you any better?”

Lucas faltered. “I…”

“You’re lying,” Lilian said, not backing down. “You can’t hide the way you look at someone you care about. You like her.”

Jace brushed past her, not saying anything.

“Jace, you already broke up with her. Why don’t you give me a chance? I like you,” Lilian said, her voice firm.

Jace glanced at her for a moment. “Don’t waste your time. I’m not interested in you.”

He walked away, not looking back.

“Jace!” Lilian called after him.

She stomped her foot in frustration, her heart pounding. Jace was special to her. It was love at first sight, and she wasn’t planning to let go that easily.

Back at home, Lilly crawled under her blanket and cried for ages, her heart aching every time she replayed Jace’s words in her mind.

By the next morning, she woke up with a burning fever.
