“We’re not here to sightsee,” Lilly said, looking at the owner. “We’re searching for something.”
The owner’s eyes lit up with curiosity. “What are you looking for? Maybe I can help.”
“We’re trying to find a Frost Orchid.”
“You mean the legendary Frost Orchid that only blooms once every fifty years?” The owner grinned. “You’re in luck. Just yesterday, a guy named Remy went up the mountain and picked one.”
Lilly’s eyes widened in excitement. “Seriously? That’s incredible! Do you have his contact information? We’re willing to pay a high price for the Frost Orchid.”
The owner nodded with a smile. “I have his number. I’ll call him right now.”
As he pulled out his phone, Lilly turned to Jason, her face lighting up. “Did you hear that? We couldn’t have timed this better. There’s actually a Frost Orchid!”
Jason reached over and gently pinched her cheek, a smile tugging at his lips. “Look at you, all excited.”
“Of course I am,” Lilly said, grinning.
The owner finished his call and looked over. “I talked to Remy. I told him you want to buy the Frost Orchid and you’ll pay a good price. He said he’ll come by this afternoon to meet you.”
Lilly almost bounced with happiness. “Thank you so much! We’ll wait for him.”
Back in their room, Lilly couldn’t stop smiling. “I can’t believe our luck. No matter how much he wants, we have to get that Frost Orchid.”
Jason nodded. “Absolutely.”
“Please ask him who he sold it to,” she said, her voice urgent. “This Frost Orchid means everything to us.”
The owner tried again. “Remy, can you tell me who you sold it to… Hello? Hello?” The line went dead. Remy had hung up.
The owner turned to them, his expression apologetic. “He hung up.”
Lilly’s panic spiked. “Why would he hang up? Do you know where he lives? We need to find him right now.”
The owner scribbled down an address and handed it over. “He lives close by. Try there.”
Lilly grabbed the paper, reached for Jason’s hand, and squeezed it tight. “Come on. Let’s go find him. We need to know who has the Frost Orchid. We have to get it back, no matter what.”
