The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 884

Jason nodded. “Okay.” He brought Lilly to Remy’s place, but the front door was locked and it was clear no one was home.

Lilly knocked, her voice echoing in the quiet hallway. “Hello? Is anyone there?”

A neighbor poked his head out from next door. “Are you two looking for Remy?”

Lilly nodded. “Yes, do you know where he went?”

The neighbor gave a small shrug. “Remy’s moved away. He left Tibet.”

Lilly’s heart skipped. “Do you know where he moved to?”

He shook his head. “I heard he came into a lot of money. He said he wouldn’t be coming back.”

A lot of money? Lilly’s thoughts raced.

“You must be here for the Frost Orchid, right? Someone already bought it. Paid a fortune for it too. Remy took the money and left.”

Lilly felt her hopes crash. Someone else had bought the Frost Orchid before them. They were too late. She had thought their timing was perfect, arriving just as the rare flower bloomed, but someone had beaten them to it.

Why did it have to happen like this? She couldn’t help but wonder who had managed to buy the Frost Orchid.

Jason looked at the neighbor. “Are there any other Frost Orchides for sale?”

The neighbor shook his head. “They’re incredibly rare. The Frost Orchid only blooms once every fifty years. There aren’t any others on these mountains. Remy just got lucky and found that one.”

So that was it. No more chances. The idea of waiting fifty more years felt impossible.

Jason squeezed Lilly’s hand. “Why are your hands so cold?”

Lilly managed a small smile. “We were just too late, Jason.”

Lilly knew right away. It was Jill. Even though they hadn’t spoken much before, she recognized the voice instantly. Sometimes, a woman just knows.

“Jill, it’s you.”

“That’s right. Do you have a minute? Want to meet up and talk?”

Lilly frowned. “You’re in Tibet too?”

Jill let out a soft laugh. “I am. In fact, I’m staying at the same guesthouse as you.”

A realization hit and Lilly couldn’t help but laugh a little. “You bought the Frost Orchid, didn’t you?”

She’d wondered who could have gotten there first, who seemed to know exactly what to do. Now, hearing Jill’s voice, it all made sense.
