The Heiress’ Return: Six Brothers at Her Beck and Call (Wynter Quinnell) novel Chapter 1933

Alois' gaze darkened slightly as he looked at Wynter. "Who are you? Why haven't I seen you before?"

Wynter smiled. "There are a lot of students in your class. It's normal that you don't remember me, but I do have a few questions about the points you just raised."

The classroom erupted in murmurs.

"Are you questioning what Professor Fritz just said? Who do you think you are? Everything he says is absolutely right!"

"She clearly doesn't know anything. I'm sure she's just trying to use this as an excuse for Professor Fritz to notice her."

A flicker of displeasure flashed in Alois' eyes, but he quickly returned to a kindly expression. "What questions do you have?"

Wynter stood up. "Professor Fritz, let's take the example regarding the foreign country you just mentioned. You said they handled the matter appropriately, but from what I understand, your version is incomplete.

"The wealthy and powerful family involved paid very little to no consequences. They had simply found a scapegoat to take the fall. Meanwhile, the ordinary family is on the verge of ruin, and all they got was a single interview.

"There were no measures of compensation whatsoever. Professor Fritz, aren't you presenting a biased narrative?"

The classroom fell silent in an instant.

Alois narrowed his eyes, staring at Wynter. "That report was officially released. Are you questioning the safety and integrity of that place and suggesting that everything there is just for show?

"As a scholar, I obviously know more than you. A few words from your mouth don't make something true!"

The students started whispering again.

"Who does she think she is? Doesn't she know Professor Fritz is one of the most respected figures in this university? I trust what he says!"

"Me too! He's a professor. Why would he lie about something like this?"

Hearing this, a small smirk curled on Alois' lips. Ever since entering the classroom, he had noticed an unfamiliar pair in the room—Dalton and Wynter. He had also noticed that Wynter had been staring at him the entire time.

Wynter let out a soft laugh. "Professor Fritz, you really are quite skilled at manipulating people."

A student stood up and glared at Wynter in anger. "Who gave you the right to insult Professor Fritz? Judging by your looks and the way you speak, you're from the mainland, aren't you? Since when did people from the mainland gain the right to lecture us?"

As soon as those words were spoken, an uproar broke out.

"Exactly! You're from the mainland! Who are you to question Professor Fritz?"

"How dare a filthy mainlander come to Havenia and slander Professor Fritz?"

"Get lost, you mainland insect!"

Wynter's lips curled into a cold, disdainful smile. "Ignorant and narrow-minded people shouldn't interrupt when the adults are speaking."

As she said that, Wynter casually waved her hand. Wolf understood the cue and projected a photo onto the screen.

Wynter pointed at the image on the projector. "Professor Fritz, this person isn't unfamiliar to you, is he?"

Following her gaze, Alois looked at the screen, his fingers trembling slightly. "I… I don't know him."

Wynter nodded thoughtfully. "Then what about this group photo? You just said you don't know him, but here you are, standing right next to this foreigner."

Alois' expression darkened. "If you have questions about my research methodology, we can discuss them after class."

Wynter arched her brows. "I'm asking you if you know him."

Alois frowned slightly. "He doesn't ring a bell. As for that group photo, he might have approached me during an academic event. I don't usually remember things like that."

Wynter smiled. "Oh, do you have no impression of him at all? Fair enough. I'm sure Valir Viggo remembers you very clearly."

Seeing that the situation was starting to spiral, Alois tried to regain control. "I have no idea what you're talking about. Please don't bring irrelevant individuals into a classroom setting."

"Irrelevant?" Wynter manipulated the laptop. "Then why did you secretly meet him seven times over the past six months? Why, after those meetings, was your bedridden wife suddenly able to afford treatment in one of the top hospitals?"

Alois forced a calm expression. "Now that you mention it, I do recall him. We did meet, but only to discuss academic matters. As for my wife's treatment, that has nothing to do with him. I saved up some money, so naturally, I used it for her treatment."

Wynter looked up. "I've done my homework on you. Though I didn't have much time, I reviewed your published papers and academic activity before and after those six months.

"Six months ago, your academic stance was all about national and civic integrity. But six months later, there was a distinct shift. During that exact window, you began traveling abroad frequently for 'academic discussions.'

"And as for the money you 'saved up'…" Wynter scrolled the mouse. "Are you sure you don't know where it came from? Take a look at the projection."

Everyone stared wide-eyed at the projected screen, where a transaction record was displayed—it showed a transfer of two million dollars from Havenia's Stellar Corporation to Alois.

With a cold expression, Alois said flatly, "That company's owner appreciated my academic work and sent me two million dollars as support. What's the problem with that?"

Suddenly, he raised his voice. "Students, I, Alois Fritz, have lived my life with integrity and discipline. I've treated all of you like my own children. However, I'm now being slandered by this student. I don't want to waste any more time explaining myself.

"I understand that everyone has different perspectives on matters, but I hope that as ordinary individuals, you can learn to stand your ground and not allow yourselves to be manipulated. Is that so wrong?"

His words struck a chord with many students in the classroom.

"Professor Fritz is right! You're pinning him as immoral and unjust. What are you trying to do?"

"No wonder people in Havenia don't like mainlanders. Have you ever thought about why that is?"

"Kick her out! She's tainting the sanctity of this classroom!"

Several students stood up and began to walk toward Wynter, their eyes full of contempt.

Wynter's gaze darkened. "You few were arranged by Alois to back him up, weren't you?"

Hearing this, the students' steps faltered. "What nonsense are you spouting?"

Wynter stared them down. "The way you echo each other... It's no wonder Alois can so easily stir up the students. I don't want to resort to violence. This is a classroom—a place of learning, a sanctuary.

"But if you continue to allow him to deceive you and follow him blindly, no one will be able to save you from what comes next."

At that, the group didn't dare step closer.

Wynter walked straight up to Alois. "You can explain everything else away, but you forgot one thing—your phone contains a recording, and I just so happen to have that recording.

"I know you recorded it for your own protection. It was so that if anything went wrong, you could claim you were coerced and that it was for self-preservation."

Cold sweat broke out on Alois' forehead. Only he was supposed to know that. He couldn't figure out how Wynter found out about this.

Moreover, his phone had never left his side. There was no way anyone could have stolen the recording.

He tried to stay calm, hoping she was just bluffing. "I don't know what recording you're talking about," Alois said coldly before continuing, "I'll report you to the authorities if you continue to act this unruly."

With that, Alois began to move toward the door. After all, staying any longer might truly lead to disaster.
