The Heiress They Couldn’t Break
Chapter 166 We Didn’t Hit Anyone
Nothing could have hit harder than that.
Vincent was so furious he almost saw red.

He was just about to snap back when a low, raspy yet surprisingly pleasant voice cut through the noise–its tone laced with unmistakable amusement.
“Amelia, so that’s how you see me? Better than all the other men? I’m flattered.”
Everyone turned toward the voice. Standing at the entrance was Jeremy, dressed in a perfectly tailored suit that screamed understated luxury.
Every stitch spoke of refined craftsmanship–the fit sculpted his tall frame flawlessly, the shoulders smooth, the waist tapered just right, the fabric gleaming softly under the lights.
Clearly, it was custom–made by a top–tier tailor.
Amelia rolled her eyes.
She had only mentioned him because she thought he was not here, and it was just a way to get under Vincent’s skin.
So, why on earth was he here now?
“Just wrapped up some work,” Jeremy said casually, a faint smile on his lips. “Of course, I wanted to come see you right away.”
Someone like Jeremy did not attend parties unless he wanted to, and when he did, it instantly elevated the entire event.
His presence alone could turn an ordinary gathering into a high–society affair.
He had worried she might be bullied or cornered by these vultures. But seeing her now?
Clearly, she was the one doing the intimidating.
“Perfect timing, huh?” Amelia said with a sheepish smile.
He probably would not misunderstand her, right?
Vincent had never seen her like this before–shy, a little flustered, almost
…
soft.
Even when she was his fiancée, she had never been this way. She was always calm, distant, never the clingy type.

Chapter 166 We Didn’t Hit Anyone

That was exactly why he had once been drawn to Gianna, with her sweet and gentle act.
But now? The same Amelia who used to keep her distance was actually showing that kind of expression to another man.
Vincent felt like his heart had been struck by lightning. It was ten thousand volts of pure jealousy.
He jumped to his feet, fuming, ready to storm over and tear the two apart.
However, before he could, a familiar, whiny voice echoed through the hall.
“Vincent, are you okay? You’re not hurt, are you?”
Before he could even respond, Gianna rushed over, clinging to his arm like he was some fragile patient.
“I saw everything just now! Amelia went too far! How could she hit you like that?” she cried, tears welling up in her eyes.
She had actually been hiding in the shadows the whole time, watching everything unfold.
When she saw Amelia daring to gang up with Patience and beat up both Marcelo and Maxwell -and even Vincent–she was stunned.
Wasn’t Amelia supposed to be hopelessly in love with Vincent? The kind of woman who swore she would never marry anyone else?
So why was she beating him now? Was this some kind of trick to make people think she did not
care?
Honestly, even Gianna herself was speechless.
Yet, instead of stepping in, she immediately called their mom, urging them to come witness the “horror” for themselves and see how their precious sons had been attacked.
Sure enough, when the two women arrived and saw their sons‘ faces swollen like pigs, they were livid.
“Marcelo, Maxwell, are you okay?”
“Vincent, sweetheart, are you hurt?”
Their hearts ached at the sight, but more than that, they were furious. The injuries were not serious, but the humiliation was unbearable.

Naturally, they blamed it all on Amelia.

“Amelia Nygard! Being rebellious lately is one thing, but how could you be so cruel? How could you convince that woman to gang up on your brothers?”
Emery snapped, glaring at Patience, whom she had always despised and considered unworthy of her youngest son.
“Amelia, no matter what happened between you and Vincent, he’s still your fiancé. You shouldn’t be acting out like this in public!” Diana added sharply, deliberately hinting that they had not broken up, and that this was just a lovers‘ quarrel.
After all, Gianna had already given them a dramatic, exaggerated version of the story.
So, of course, both mothers believed Amelia had planned this whole thing.
“Us? Hit someone?” Amelia tilted her head with a sweet, innocent look.
“No way.
We didn’t hit anyone.”
Her tone was so guileless that Jeremy could not help but chuckle under his breath.
This girl is too adorable.
“How can you deny it? Look at them! Do they look fine to you?”
“Exactly! Gianna saw the whole thing and told us everything–you can’t talk your way out of this!”
“Amelia, just admit it already,” Gianna said softly, pretending to be kind and understanding. “Apologize to our brothers and to Vincent, then Mom and Mrs. Dester will let it go.”

The readers' comments on the novel: The Heiress They Couldn't Break (Amelia and Jeremy)
I'm starting not to like Josie's character. If any man did all the things she's doing, they'd be considered creepy. This version of Josie is giving me the ick....
Does the novel ends in chapter 716 or is it still ongoing?...
Absolutely beautiful!...
Oh my! I really like Whitney (Jeremy's mum). She's so down to earth. She didn't even acknowledge Sabrina's presence....
I don't know what's with this new writer, but they are only making things worse. Gianna does in fact know how to ride a horse. She's had lessons and she even had a race with Amelia where she threw nails on the track to cheat. Gianna fell in the mud and was embarrassed when they pulled the cameras at a riding club owned by Jeremy....
Why did Cloudspire Estate change from a house to an apartment? Why is the writer acting like Jeremy does not own the property and he is not the one that allowed Amelia stay there? I hate when the writer does not remember what they wrote....
This is chapter 51 again when it should be chapter 52. Please fix for future readers....
New chapters please. If Amelia doesn’t end up with Jeremy I’m going to cry...
New chapters please....
