Chapter 427 A Promise Forgotten

Simply put, Whitney just wanted her to come by often, share meals like today, and chat about everyday things.
Of course, if her future daughter-in-law happened to be interested in pharmaceutical research or the new project she was working on, she would be more than happy to discuss it in detail.
Whitney actually felt that after their conversations, she had learned quite a few new things from Amelia.
The younger generation really was surpassing the old.
“Alright, I’ll come by when I have time.” Amelia finally agreed.
They had been so warm and enthusiastic. If she kept being coy or pretending not to understand, she’d just come across as annoying.
Besides, she genuinely liked Jeremy and had feelings for him. He was so sincere and treated her so well.
She didn’t want to disappoint them.
“That’s wonderful! Let’s make it a regular thing every weekend. There’s so much I’d love to pick your brain about. Your scientific knowledge is incredibly impressive.”
After saying this, Whitney shot a smug look at her son.
See? And he said he didn’t need my help.

When it came to winning over a wife, sometimes the elders had to step up and put in the effort.
Jeremy was in high spirits and obediently gave her a secret thumbs up
Amelia naturally caught this little exchange but didn’t call them out on it. She felt happy too.
Living in a family atmosphere like this would actually be pretty nice.
It was certainly better than being at the Nygard Estate.
Thinking of the Nygards, Amelia’s heart sank. She still felt something.
They were both mothers, yet her own mother was nothing like Jeremy’s.
Even though Whitney and Jeremy rarely saw each other, the two of them remained close and weren’t swayed or divided by others’ words.
Unlike the Nygards, where just one Gianna had turned everything upside down.
Now she had completely given up on that family. As long as they could stay out of each other’s way and live their own lives, that would be good enough.
And then there was Regina,
Thinking of that woman made her think of the shadowy figures behind her.

Initially, connections to The Alchemist’s Guild had been discovered, followed by evidence of dealings with several prominent families.
She hoped Tyler could quickly unravel the tangled web of people behind that woman.
At the Jordan Estate.
Ever since that scientific conference, Floyd had been constantly thinking about seeing that pretty lady again.
Although he didn’t know her name, he remembered exactly what she looked like.
So he had simply renamed her “Ms. Pretty” in his mind.
That day, his uncle and grandmother had both promised him, in front of so many people, that they would invite the pretty lady to come visit the Jordan Estate.
Unfortunately, so many days had passed, and it seemed like no one remembered anymore.
Perhaps in the adult world, those were just polite words.
But in Floyd’s heart, it was a promise that absolutely had to be kept.
He had expressed his wishes and thoughts to the maids and butler multiple times, but nothing ever came of
It just so happened that Cora had gone to a church retreat these past few days and wasn’t home.
Esmond was always busy with work and was rarely at the estate.
The maids treated his words as a child’s whims and didn’t bother mentioning it to Cora.
The little boy’s mood, which had just started to improve, plummeted again, and he began to sink back into depression.
“Ms. Jordan, Mr. Floyd seems to be having another episode. He’s barely eating or drinking and keeps shutting himself in his room.”
Left with no other choice, the maids reported the situation to Sabrina.
“I understand. I’ll go check on him.”
Sabrina had just returned from PharmaCore 01 when the butler and maids informed her of this.
Her brow furrowed as she put on a very concerned expression.
After dismissing the maids, she didn’t even bother going to her own room first and hurried straight to her
brother’s room.
The Jordan Estate was massive. The maids and butler alone had their own separate building.
This was quite common among wealthy, prestigious families.

However, she and Floyd didn’t live in the same building, so she had to walk quickly over to the neighboring
villa.
Sabrina entered her brother’s room and found him sitting alone in silence, staring blankly out the window.
“Floyd, what are you doing?” she asked in a gentle, patient voice, though her words lacked any real warmth.
Floyd glanced at her. There was no joy at seeing a close family member. Instead, a flicker of fear and wariness flashed through his beautiful eyes.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Heiress They Couldn't Break (Amelia and Jeremy)
I'm starting not to like Josie's character. If any man did all the things she's doing, they'd be considered creepy. This version of Josie is giving me the ick....
Does the novel ends in chapter 716 or is it still ongoing?...
Absolutely beautiful!...
Oh my! I really like Whitney (Jeremy's mum). She's so down to earth. She didn't even acknowledge Sabrina's presence....
I don't know what's with this new writer, but they are only making things worse. Gianna does in fact know how to ride a horse. She's had lessons and she even had a race with Amelia where she threw nails on the track to cheat. Gianna fell in the mud and was embarrassed when they pulled the cameras at a riding club owned by Jeremy....
Why did Cloudspire Estate change from a house to an apartment? Why is the writer acting like Jeremy does not own the property and he is not the one that allowed Amelia stay there? I hate when the writer does not remember what they wrote....
This is chapter 51 again when it should be chapter 52. Please fix for future readers....
New chapters please. If Amelia doesn’t end up with Jeremy I’m going to cry...
New chapters please....
