Chapter 466 The Hidden Cracks

It was the kind of condition where hospital tests showed nothing wrong, yet the body grew slower than normal. In worse cases, the body could even start to weaken instead of grow.
The child had likely been threatened and mentally abused. That kind of fear and pressure could easily cause him to shut himself off from the world.
When you thought about it, it made sense. If a child so young had been secretly used for experiments, how could there not be psychological damage?
“It looks like this family definitely has secrets,” Jeremy said. “Do you suspect Esmond?”
“Yes,” Amelia replied. “Esmond and Sabrina are both suspicious. But I already had people check on them. Nothing unusual showed up.”
Tyler had used every method he had to investigate Esmond. All the reports came back the same. The siblings were very close.
Esmond was known as a gentle, polite man. He was devoted to his parents and especially caring toward his younger siblings.
His marriage was solid, and he had only one child-Brielle.
Even though his wife was in poor health and couldn’t have more children, Esmond had never complained.
Investigators also confirmed that he had no children outside the marriage.
As for
As for Regina, there had never been any contact between her and Esmond. Not even a brief encounter.
Everything looked perfect. But the cleaner and more flawless it seemed, the more uneasy Amelia felt.
“People who hide the deepest,” Jeremy said, “are never this easy to investigate.”
“I agree,” Amelia said. “And that day, I accidentally noticed the way Regina looked at Esmond. It wasn’t
normal.”
Jeremy agreed. Her logic made sense.
“Still,” Amelia continued, “this is only a guess. There’s a chance Floyd’s condition comes from another cause. That’s why I want to run a test.”
“What test?” Jeremy asked.
Before she could explain, the door opened. The little boy/walked in, carefully carrying a tray filled with snacks and drinks.
Following him into the room was Jerry.
He arrived with several staff members. They carefully carried in trays filled with delicate pastries and a wide variety of fruit juices. Everything was neatly arranged on the table. ng was neatly arranged on the table.
After setting the food down, Jerry spoke politely, “We sincerely apologize. We failed to think things through

and didn’t prepare snacks and drinks for you in time.”
Earlier, when Floyd went out to get food, Aunt Nydia happened to be there.

When she learned that Jeremy wanted something to eat and drink, she silently scolded herself for being careless.
She couldn’t believe she had forgotten to prepare snacks and fruit. Worse, she had let a child run errands for guests.
So, she immediately ordered Jerry to send every good snack and drink they had straight to Floyd’s room.
Amelia looked at the table piled high with food. She had eaten not long ago and felt a bit confused.
“Well, there’s really no need to bring so much. We’re not hungry.
“No, no. This is what we should do,” Jerry replied warmly. “Please enjoy. If you need anything else, just let us
know.”
After speaking, he bowed slightly and left the room.
“See? This is your fault,” Amelia said, shooting a sideways glance at the man beside her.
“Ahem. Eat more,” Jeremy said casually. “You’re too skinny.” He felt puzzled as well.
He only wanted an excuse to send that little brat away.
Who would have thought that in the blink of an eye, a whole table of food would appear?
Floyd said nothing. After completing his task, he happily ran back to Amelia and stayed close to her again.
Amelia took a small bottle out of her bag. It looked like a spray bottle.
“The weather is very dry,” she said gently. “I’ll spray something on you. It’s good for your skin and won’t hurt you at all, okay?”
Floyd nodded without hesitation. He didn’t doubt her for a second.
Amelia smiled and patted his head.
Such a lovely child!
Then she sprayed the mist lightly over his arms, legs, face, and even his upper body.
Aside from his skin looking more hydrated and soft, nothing else changed.
Still unwilling to give up, Amelia had Jeremy help spray him again, including his buttocks.
Still no reaction.
“Did I guess wrong?” Amelia muttered, rubbing her chin. “Was Floyd never used as a test subject? That doesn’t make sense.”
“Could it be hidden by some other method?” Jeremy asked.

He knew exactly what she was trying to confirm.
“This is a specially made solution,” Amelia said firmly. “If that were the case, it would definitely show.”
Refusing to believe it, she finally sprayed the bottoms of Floyd’s feet as well.
She did it without much hope, almost casually.
But then-

Comments
The readers' comments on the novel: The Heiress They Couldn't Break (Amelia and Jeremy)
I'm starting not to like Josie's character. If any man did all the things she's doing, they'd be considered creepy. This version of Josie is giving me the ick....
Does the novel ends in chapter 716 or is it still ongoing?...
Absolutely beautiful!...
Oh my! I really like Whitney (Jeremy's mum). She's so down to earth. She didn't even acknowledge Sabrina's presence....
I don't know what's with this new writer, but they are only making things worse. Gianna does in fact know how to ride a horse. She's had lessons and she even had a race with Amelia where she threw nails on the track to cheat. Gianna fell in the mud and was embarrassed when they pulled the cameras at a riding club owned by Jeremy....
Why did Cloudspire Estate change from a house to an apartment? Why is the writer acting like Jeremy does not own the property and he is not the one that allowed Amelia stay there? I hate when the writer does not remember what they wrote....
This is chapter 51 again when it should be chapter 52. Please fix for future readers....
New chapters please. If Amelia doesn’t end up with Jeremy I’m going to cry...
