Regina had no interest in pleasing these wealthy ladies. She came with a clear goal in mind.
Still, someone else stood in sharp contrast to her and became the center of attention.
“Mrs. Nygard, how do you take care of your skin? You have to tell me your secret. Your skin looks amazing. I’m so jealous.”
“Oh, it’s love doing all the work,” another woman laughed. “Unlike us, all dried up and tired.”
“Mrs. Nygard, that dress is gorgeous. Is it a one-of-a-kind design by Valentina?”
“Mr. Nygard treats you so well. A man that loyal is so rare in our circle.”
“Rare? More like one in a million. Probably only Mr. Nygard could do that. You’re so lucky.”
The woman surrounded by praise was Emery herself.
She had always enjoyed events like this-private parties, tastings, and small gatherings. She also had a close group of friends she played cards with and traveled with often.
Emery grew up sheltered and protected. She married the only son of a well-matched family. No complicated in-law drama. Her husband treated her well.
Because of this, she didn’t have many hidden worries or schemes.
The women in this social circle had seen too much backstabbing and too many power games. Naturally, they preferred spending time with someone simple and straightforward. Someone with fewer tricks up her sleeve.
That was why Emery was well-liked in their circle.
“Oh, you’re so dramatic,” Emery said with a smile. “Your husbands buy you plenty of nice things too.”
“My husband is just like yours,” she added lightly. “Always busy. I barely see him. Who knows, maybe he has someone on the side and I just don’t know.”
Everyone liked hearing kind words.
Emery felt warm and pleased inside, but she still sounded modest.
She might joke about it, but deep down, she trusted her husband completely. She believed he was loyal to her alone,
“Well, if your husband really had someone else and you never found out your whole life, that would actually be a blessing,” one woman said. “You could just pretend it never happened.”
“My husband is something else,” another scoffed. “He messes around nonstop and changes women every month. He’s so bold he doesn’t even bother hiding it from me.”
“At least he doesn’t keep just one long-term mistress,” someone else chimed in. “I’m more worried he’ll end up giving me a few kids from outside. That would be a real nightmare.”

To them, what Emery said wasn’t a problem at all. Their husbands cheated openly and often.

They no longer hoped for love or loyalty. All they wanted was peace and no surprise illegal child showing up to fight over the family fortune.
“Oh, don’t be so discouraged,” Emery said with a gentle smile. “Sometimes men need to be soothed too. They need care and attention. A woman taking the initiative isn’t always a bad thing.
“I’ll teach you a few tricks for keeping your husband in line,” she added confidently. “They might come in handy.”
Emery looked happy and content, making everyone else feel a little jealous, as she confidently and proudly got ready to pass on her tips.
“What tricks?” one woman urged. “Don’t keep us in suspense.”
“Yeah, hurry up and tell us,” another chimed in. “No wonder you have your husband wrapped around your finger. I knew you had your ways.”
At once, the wealthy ladies perked up. Their faces lit with excitement as they leaned in, eager to hear her
secrets.
Emery happily shared her “experience,” pride swelling in her chest. She was always grateful that she had chosen the right man.
She believed her life had gone smoothly overall.
Emery had been born into the Palmers, a wealthy and respected household. Later, she married into a family of equal standing.
Most importantly, this marriage wasn’t just about business. She and Raymond had been classmates. They had liked each other long before marriage.
In her eyes, she hadn’t entered a business marriage. She had married for love.
She had also given birth to three sons and one daughter, greatly expanding the Nygard family line. That alone was a huge contribution.
She felt the only stain on her life was the daughter she herself had given birth to.
Amelia was rebellious and immature. She had suddenly left home without a word and stayed away for years.
Emery had been heartbroken for a long time back then. Only after that did she agree to let her husband adopt a daughter as a replacement.
Perhaps it was fate. Gianna happened to bond with her very well.
Gianna was obedient, thoughtful, and respectful. She was also very caring toward her brothers, which made Emery like her even more.
And now, that rebellious daughter still refused to return to come home.
Not only that, she kept getting involved in scandals.

Because of this, Emery felt that in every part of her life, she had something to be proud of.
Except for Amelia, that daughter was the one thing that made Emery feel unable to hold her head high in front of others.

Comments
The readers' comments on the novel: The Heiress They Couldn't Break (Amelia and Jeremy)
I'm starting not to like Josie's character. If any man did all the things she's doing, they'd be considered creepy. This version of Josie is giving me the ick....
Does the novel ends in chapter 716 or is it still ongoing?...
Absolutely beautiful!...
Oh my! I really like Whitney (Jeremy's mum). She's so down to earth. She didn't even acknowledge Sabrina's presence....
I don't know what's with this new writer, but they are only making things worse. Gianna does in fact know how to ride a horse. She's had lessons and she even had a race with Amelia where she threw nails on the track to cheat. Gianna fell in the mud and was embarrassed when they pulled the cameras at a riding club owned by Jeremy....
Why did Cloudspire Estate change from a house to an apartment? Why is the writer acting like Jeremy does not own the property and he is not the one that allowed Amelia stay there? I hate when the writer does not remember what they wrote....
This is chapter 51 again when it should be chapter 52. Please fix for future readers....
New chapters please. If Amelia doesn’t end up with Jeremy I’m going to cry...
New chapters please....
