So Amelia did not interfere too much or offer any firm advice.
After all, she was not any different. She had not even sorted out her own situation yet.
Looking at Maxwell sitting on the small stool not far away, Amelia let out a quiet sigh.
The coldness and hurt she had received from them in the past could not just disappear overnight.
But Raymond's death, and the reasons he had kept hidden, still left Amelia uneasy.
What she feared most were misunderstandings like this. When people clearly cared about each other, yet for reasons left unspoken, they ended up causing each other pain.
By the time the truth finally came out, there was often no chance left to fix anything.
On nights when Amelia could not sleep, she would instinctively take out the diary Raymond had left behind.
She understood that he had always wanted the Nygards to stay united, to be a happy family together.
Even if the children grew up and went their separate ways, he had hoped they would still come back to gather during holidays.
That was probably every parent's wish.
Unfortunately, such a simple hope was something he would never get to see.
The Nygards had become fractured, filled with distance and pain.
Amelia's feelings were complicated.
She did not want to go back to the past. She only wanted to move forward, to build a future with the person she loved and the companions she cherished.
But now, those Nygards hovered around her every day. And she could see that some of their intentions were genuine.
People were made of flesh and blood. Feelings flowed both ways.
Seeing their changes, she could not help but waver for a moment.
As these thoughts piled up, a sense of exhaustion washed over her. She decided she did not want to think about it anymore for now.
Just like Patience had said, she would let things happen naturally.
At that moment, the happiest and most excited person was probably Maxwell.
He was still bragging to Marcelo and Miguel.
At the Nygard Residence that evening.
"I didn't do too badly, right? I even earned myself a stool to sit on. Personally approved by Amelia," Maxwell said proudly during dinner.
The other two brothers looked at him with envy.
"That's real progress. The last time I went to see her, I could only talk to her at the door," one of them said.
"That's better than me. She told me to just have her assistant pass messages to her instead. No need for me to show up in person," the other added.
As soon as he said that, Marcelo felt his heart sink with regret.
Among the three brothers, he had been the harshest toward Amelia.
Emery felt useless.
A useless person who did not even dare face her own daughter or know how to repair their relationship.
The more she thought about it, the heavier her mood became.
She sighed softly.
"Mom, why are you sighing? Focus on getting better. Leave Amelia to us," Maxwell asked quickly.
"Yeah, I believe Amelia will see our changes," another son added.
"Your priority right now is your health. Keeping your emotions bottled up isn't good for your condition. We're confident we can make things right with Amelia," another said seriously.
They were afraid her mood would spiral.
The doctor had said she had not fully recovered yet and was still dealing with serious psychological issues. Emotional extremes were absolutely not allowed.
"I almost don't want to get completely better. If I recover fully, Amelia probably won't come see me anymore," Emery said quietly, sighing again.
Her thoughts had grown increasingly extreme.
Because her condition still required monitoring, Amelia came every two weeks to check on her and continue treatment.
If she fully recovered, would Amelia stop coming?
"How can you think like that?" Maxwell said immediately, frowning. "That would just put more pressure on Amelia."

The readers' comments on the novel: The Heiress They Couldn't Break (Amelia and Jeremy)
I'm starting not to like Josie's character. If any man did all the things she's doing, they'd be considered creepy. This version of Josie is giving me the ick....
Does the novel ends in chapter 716 or is it still ongoing?...
Absolutely beautiful!...
Oh my! I really like Whitney (Jeremy's mum). She's so down to earth. She didn't even acknowledge Sabrina's presence....
I don't know what's with this new writer, but they are only making things worse. Gianna does in fact know how to ride a horse. She's had lessons and she even had a race with Amelia where she threw nails on the track to cheat. Gianna fell in the mud and was embarrassed when they pulled the cameras at a riding club owned by Jeremy....
Why did Cloudspire Estate change from a house to an apartment? Why is the writer acting like Jeremy does not own the property and he is not the one that allowed Amelia stay there? I hate when the writer does not remember what they wrote....
This is chapter 51 again when it should be chapter 52. Please fix for future readers....
New chapters please. If Amelia doesn’t end up with Jeremy I’m going to cry...
New chapters please....
