Chapter 630 Sparks in the Night

After saying that, Jeremy swept up the bill and left as fast as a sudden squall.

Judging by the spring in his stride and the way the air around him seemed to buzz, the man was clearly on cloud nine.

That sight dealt a brutal blow to the two single men, Anderson and Harrison.

“Damn it. That smug jerk is unbearable. Gets a girlfriend and suddenly he struts like a show bird.”

Anderson felt so irritated he nearly wanted to throw punches. He grabbed his coat to leave, then still turned back to boast at Harrison.

“It’s not like he’s the only one with a girlfriend. I’m going to flirt with some influencer. Enjoy yourself, Harrison. And don’t sulk just because you’re single.”

Afraid of taking a hit, he fled in an instant.

Harrison was stunned.

No wonder those two grew up together. Both of them deserved a good beating.

In the spacious lounge, Harrison was left alone. The noise around him felt muted, while the soft laughter drifting from Josie’s direction pierced his ears like tiny needles.

He lifted the barely touched glass. The amber liquid traced thin lines along the crystal, reflecting the dark, unreadable look in his eyes.

In the end, after holding back again and again, he walked straight toward Josie.

“Not bad, Ms. Hutton. You went on a blind date this afternoon, acting like marriage was the goal, and tonight you’re out drinking with other people.”

Josie had been smiling brightly and never imagined she would run into Harrison here.

She nearly lost her grip on the glass.

Guilty. Completely guilty.

“Heh, you misunderstood, Harrison. I just got here. I invited Amelia and Patience, but they were busy, so I…”

“You don’t need to explain to me. You can drink with whoever you want. That’s your choice.”

He cut her off before she could finish.

“I want to explain. You’re my blind date now, remember?”

“Blind dates mean nothing. We’ve both had plenty.” Harrison clearly did not care.

“That’s different,” Josie said seriously. “This time both our families were there.”

Harrison remained silent.

“Just trust me this once, alright? I didn’t do anything. I couldn’t sleep, so I came out for a couple of drinks.

Josie felt wronged by fate.

She truly planned to meet Amelia and the others, but they canceled last minute, so she came out alone.

Then, by pure coincidence, she ran into a few friends she used to drink and chat with.

Those cheerful, puppy-like guys were all harmless. They were basically her sisters.

She admitted she used to enjoy nightlife and freedom, so she did not think too much about it

Now, if Harrison wanted her to stop, she did not mind. She did not need to drift endlessly.

She preferred to settle by his side, even cling to him if she could.

It was obvious he felt something too.

Jealousy, that was exactly what this was.

Just as Josie imagined she was winning him over, he calmly adjusted his collar and turned away.

He said lightly. “Alright. Enjoy yourself. I’ll head our first.”

“Hey, wait! You heartless man. How can you just walk off like that?”

Josie stamped her foot, cheeks puffed with anger as she stared at his retreating figure.

What was that supposed to mean?

She already lowered herself this far, yet he stayed so distant..

Was that flicker of jealousy just in her head?

Impossible. A man she set her sights on would not escape that easily.

She took a breath, ignored her so-called sisters, and hurried after him.

“Harrison, stop right there! Josie called out, urgency carried by the night air.

Harrison did not slow down and kept walking as if he heard nothing.
